Ekiti state government has announced the removal of the Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Prof. Sam Bandele, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Dr. Kolawole Ogundipe and Provost of the College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti, Prof. Mojisola Oyarekwa.

Their removal followed the consideration and adoption of the White Papers on the reports of the Visitation and Fact-finding Panels by the State Executive Council, on the institutions by the government.

The governor of the state, Dr Kayode Fayemi, in his capacity as Visitor, said the most senior officials of the institutions should take over the running of the institutions pending the appointment of substantive heads.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Yinka Oyebode, on Tuesday, said the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Prof (Mrs)Olubunmi Ajayi, is to take charge in an acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Vice Chancellor by the Governing Council.

The governor also approved the appointment of Mrs Folakemi Falore as the Sole Administrator of the College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti.

In the case of the College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero, the Sole Administrator is responsible for implementing the White Paper.

The governor also approved the immediate constitution of the governing councils for the institutions.

The newly appointed members of the governing councils are to be sworn in on Monday, January 28, 2019.

Anything that brings development to the sector is fine by me. After all, these are the benefits you get when you play active politics. You get Appointments not commentary. Hardluck to NL sad commentators for getting nothing.

Is so annoying to see lazy politicians use their veto power over intellectuals


Do you know what takes to be a Prof and Chief Medical director. And they were sacked simply because the governor holds the status of Visitor.

The one way dey thief reach that of the useless 109 senators way Neva do anything meaningful for Nigerians.

I am waiting to see how ASUU handles this.

Imagine not even demotion but outright sack .
