That is the problem that comes with urbanization. . The sanitation problem is not limited to Accra alone, lagos is another example.These days west africa sub region produces more than 110% more refuse in domestic and from manufacturing than she did 40 years ago.And a lot of it needs immediate and special treatment to prevent hazards. there is need for comprehensive plan for the whole region enacted.Cleaning up just Ghana alone is like a Homeowner who cleans up his front Varender and garden but refuses to clean up the bedrooms,kitchen,Hall,dining area and bathrooms.

I think its CU's of the experience these foreign companies have I watched the recent interview by Nigerian Ronald chagoury about eko Atlantic and he was talking about how almost everything is 98 localy sourced he said at the beginning of the land reclamation process they had to invite foreign experts from Europe because they had no clue how to do it
but now he said they can even do it while sleeping

So finally a Nigerian firm can undertake a similar project. Sounds legit. But Africa still has a long way till we can actually make the dredgers ourselves. Africans need to aggressively invest in science and technology. Science would solve 80-90 % of our problems but we seem cursed. Just cant do it. Its that simple. Invest in science, tech and teach people to solve problems logically & systematically...
