This is the single gravest assault ever perpetuated against the Nigerian constitution in the history of this country. Anyone who for partisan or whatever sentimental reasons, takes side with this constitutional rape is simply not looking forward to leaving even a half-livable nation to generations ahead of us. I weep for my country. Sanity has gone to the dogs!

l think national assembly has to commence Buhari impeachment process without delay before he plot Nigeria into a state of anarchy
We real Nigerians are behind any course of action to flush those oloriburuku judges out of the system. Judiciary has simply become instrument in the hands of corrupt politicians to protect their interests and loot. I support any step taken by Buhari to sanitize the Judiciary which is supposed to be the last hope of the common man. Let Buhari extend this probe to all Lawyers and Judges in Nigeria, not forgetting all Senators, Reps, ex-goverors and even his cabinet and party members. They all should be jailed. Kudos to Mr President.

It is only the opposition who probably are funding these corrupt judges to serve their interests and those who does not wish Nigeria well I. E those who just have this canceric hatred for the person of Integrity-personified Buhari I. E those that descend from israel where their director is hiding who will support their looting relatives even at the detriment of their future and that of their innocent children.

The only resentment I have against Buhari is his sluggishness in taking these steps. Why has he waited till a month to election before he started signing laws and going headson against corrupt people. Better late they say than never. Should in case he returns as President February, he should fight corruption heads on without fear or favour. He should crush corrupt officials, seize and sell office their properties, rid Senate, reps of corruption and ensure he not only demonstrate the political will but take bold action and steps to sanitize all public sectors in the country.

Buharists have suddenly developed a rapacious appetite for legal knowledge, opinion, and interpretation. Since Buhari's removal of CJN Onnoghen, they've been going from one lawyer to another asking for legal interpretation in the hope that they'll find one willing to support the unconstitutional act of their god, Buhari.

Since when did Buhari and his supporters start caring about legality, the constitution, and the opinion of lawyers? In the past didn't they say legality didn't matter, and that constitutionality didn't matter?
In fact many Buharists faulted Buhari for allowing the constitution and legality to stand in the way of his rule, arguing that that was why his administration was failing.

Other Buharists defended him at various times when he disobeyed court orders and court-ordered bails.
The only thing they want to do today is to find a legal escape hatch for Buhari.

They're not really interested in the constitutional logic and provisions for removing the CJN, which they already know as the relevant section of the constitution is being circulated on social media. That's why they're going after lawyers; they want to find a legal mind infected by Buharism. But lawyers know what the constitution says and it's unambiguous about the process of removing the CJN.
Buharists know that Buhari has messed up. They know right from wrong. But their Buharism, a strange mental disorder, will not let them take a stand and admit that their man is a civilian dictator.
Shame.

Why didn't buhari bulldoze democracy when it involves gandollar.?
Didn't the idiot and his fans invoke democracy?

If he had given the order for gandollar to be arrested by the military, will it be too much compared to this?

You are deceiving yourself, not anybody else.
The issue here is the CJN. I care less about Ganduje and the last time i checked the governors enjoy some form of immunity. So lets face the issue of discourse. Buhari just made my day because we need a strong president that is willing to take a stand against corruption irrespective of who is involved. Although, it might be better if Ganduje can be tried, but at least start trying the thieves one by one and anybody who is corrupt in this country will be aware that one day the hand of law will judge them.

If Jonathan got the balls to convict or suspend corrupt people, Buhari would have been left with little to deal with.

The Nigerian Bar Association has called on the National Assembly to save Nigeria from what it described as a “coup against the judiciary.”

The NBA said this in a statement by its President, Mr. Paul Usoro (SAN), on Friday while reacting to the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen.

The association said in a statement titled, ‘Coup against the Nigerian judiciary and suspension of the Nigerian constitution,’ that President Muhammadu Buhari acted against the constitution by removing Onnoghen and swearing-in Justice Ibrahim Mohammed.

The NBA said, “We call on the Federal Government to avert the looming constitutional crisis precipitated by its ill-advised action. In particular, the Nigerian Bar Association demands the reversal of the purported suspension of. Justice Walter S C Onnoghen, GCON.

“We also call on the National Assembly to assert its constitutional authority and powers and prevent this slide into chaos and erosion of the rule of law.”

The association said the ex parte order of the Code of Conduct Tribunal which the President relied on in suspending Onnoghen was an abuse of court processes.

It added, “The NBA unequivocally rejects and condemns this attempted coup against the Nigerian Judiciary and evident suspension of the Nigerian Constitution by the executive arm of the Federal Government. The action of the executive portends a slide into anarchy and complete deconstruction of the rule of law and due process

“It amounts to an absolute breach of the constitution and the usurpation of the powers of the Senate and the Nigerian Judicial Council. It is unfortunate that the executive branch of government purports to suspend the CJN on the basis of an alleged ex-parte order of the Code of Conduct Tribunal – the same Tribunal that, to the knowledge of the executive, had, only the previous day, Tuesday, 22 January 2019 adjourned its proceedings to Monday, 28 January 2019 and has before it a Motion on Notice that is yet to be argued, seeking the same reliefs as were contained in the purported ex-parte application, to wit, the suspension of the CJN, among others.”

Because Ganduje has immunity. You have to know something before you comment on it. It is not just Ganduje, Wike also has N115bn issues, Ortom has his own.
Dem no born Buhari well to touch any of them. CJN has no immunity. The man has confessed to the crime but the criminal (Onnoghen) allowed politicians to confuse him. He should have let NJC meet to suspend him, there would have been some negotiations but he was stamping on them and not calling meetings
