awelekiti:Which aid for what election? Boko Haram has been tormenting Nigeria for close to 10 years, not once have they deployed all the technology they have , instead they request we pay upfront, sometimes even denying us outright. They should stick their comments where the sun doesn't shine if they cannot be neutral. Which Judge in the US or UK would be allowed to get away with such callousness? |

rusher14:They of course wouldn't condone indiscipline among their judges but they respect the constitution. Due process must be followed in their case. No arraignment would take less than 2 months in any democracy. The 3-day arraignment in the case of onoghen calls for a concern and could fuel constitutional and ethnic crises. If he's found culpable, I'm in support of his prosecution but the steps taken is very wrong. When the majority is condemning an act, including the international communities, it calls for a concern. we should think twice instead of attacking. |

awelekiti:Oh Lawd. Why do you guys like to bury your head in the sand? The stupid Onnoghen postponed the same NJC that could carry out an appraisal on him... indefinitely. Do you understand what that means? |

rusher14:No matter your opinion about the case, I'd keep telling you same thing...The procedure is very wrong. Whether he commited a crime or not. And if found culpable, he shoukd be shown the way to the prison, period. Nigeria is bound by a constitution. We're not in a military era and if buhari truly saw himself as a true democrat as he proclaimed in Chatham house a few moths before the last presidential election, and not same buhari of the 80s who showed lack of respect for the rule of law which led to his ouster back then, he would have acted accordingly. His sudden and speedy action in this matter is a dent on the constitution of Nigeria and our nascent democracy. |

awelekiti:Is it not a coup when a judge shuts down every means of being investigated? What measure could have been taken other than suspension? If he feels aggrieved and believes firmly in the justice system, he should seek redress in the Law courts. |

America and the rest of the world can't dictate how we run our affairs because we don't dictate to them too. The CJN was trying to prove he was above the law by closing all avenues to be investigated and we are expected to keep quiet? PDP and especially GEJ did same according to the law the PDP laid down in the case of justice Salami and heaven didn't fall. |

rusher14:Who told you he did so because the NJC was set to carry out an appraisal on him? Did the NJC receive any petition pertaining to him, that would have warranted any appraisal? Onnoghen still enjoys the support of the majority of Justices of the Supreme Court. It's funny you presume he was afraid of any appraisal. Awelekiti, use paragraphs na. You make a lot of sense, but it's difficult reading your comments. |

rusher14:This is politics and separation of powers! Allow the judiciary and legislative arms sort themselves out. When Buhari was taking medical trips abroad for months, did the judiciary or senate impeach him? Has Buhari not committed impeachable offenses like refusing to release Dasuki and the rest? If they postpone the NJC indefinitely, it’s not the president’s business to become the jury on that Say NO to Dictatorship! |

bantudra:Abacha threatened more than what you've written here but didn't live to tell the story . You're just human, and at anytime will answer to the call of nature (death) so stop this chest beating . If your plan of re-electing buhari (which will not happen) is to punish some set of people you see as enemy for resisting tyranny , God will put you all supporting this evil where you belong . |

sarrki: Lizards can always bark at lions from their hiding holes in the ground. I hope it is their children they hope to use to fight world powers not innocent Nigerians serving in our army. Funnily, dictators are ALWAYS the first to warn about being "sovereign", yet they refuse to respect the constitution of their country or the wishes of their people where sovereignty is derived. Another Muammar Gaddafi and Saddam Hussein situation loading lol.......

You accept the monies in form of foreign aides and you don't want them to have a say, especially when you're about to wreck our fragile democracy. You must be insane. |
