Let me educate you on this. The VP and the CJN belong to the same bar association and the VP knows that the President has gone contrary to the law governing the land. If him the VP openly supports Buhari's action , the NBA might suspend him for not abiding by the rule of law. So this is why the VP is pretending to be neutral on this matter.
