Humility017:He was being blunt. We really wanted him but he chose England. Simple as that. The red carpet treatment was just a figure of speech. I think Akpoguma was even more 'disrespectful' but he doesn't even get half the hate Tammy does. |

Well u would ask me the reason. And let me inform u. Tammy said we rollled the red carpet. That’s exactly what we did pre-world Cup. Our approach was faulty. Pinnick’s utterances all along was cocky. I say things as it is. And that’s what the young man did. Some of us as are embarrassed just because we are not putting things in perspective. Humility017: |

tbaba1234:After Tammy disrespected us in that manner? Such a player will never be loyal to the Nigerian flag and anthem. Loyalty and devotion is a big part of National team football. When a player does not have it, he will end up pulling the team down. Tammy is a no to the team. |

mostob:Thank you. Tammy can be Messi for all I care. He kissed the Super Eagles good bye when he chose to Ridicule the call-up. That was a disrespect to the country, flag and people of the country. I do not blame him sha? I blame Pinnick who treat these egoistic people as if our lives depend on them. |

tbaba1234:I never expected this from you, dont let ur fantasies make u join the deluded band wagon. A Tammy that didn't fancy a world cup chance with Nigeria, will now suddenly stoop so low for one inconsequential Afcon, now that he seems to have rediscovered his form and ripe for the 3lions? Dream on. The earlier u lot wake up from this slumber... |

mostob:I keep repeating. World class! World class!! World class!!! Glory 2022! We can't be aiming to reach at least the semifinals in WC 2022 and still be limiting our pool of players. If Tammy decides to play for us we should accept him. If the German boys Rohr wooed change their minds we should accept them. Look how far we have come. There was a time our team was filled with the likes of Mba, Oboabona, Gambo, Babatunde, Reuben Gabriel, Oshaniwa etc. Now we can boast of fairly above average players since Rohr came in. That's a steady progress we shouldn't stall. Let's stop encouraging mediocrity in the name of pride. We are not Germany. So we need to swallow our pride and get the best in anticipation for a solid team. This year's AFCON is going to be a cracker. All the best players in Europe will be available unlike in the past when it was hosted in Jan/Feb while European leagues were busy and the likes of Egypt were able to win it back to back because top teams did not play with their full strength teams. This years AFCON will be full of quality play and technicality from top teams. You get to watch Salah, Mane, Aubumeyang, Iwobi etc. Victor Moses is welcome back to the team. Rohr also should not give up on scouting the quality additions and wooing them. Glory 2022! World cup trophy on an African soil, NIGERIA ![]() |

bobobooge:The growth in talent of the squad has nothing to do with Rohr but the growth from the last two U17 we won, the growth of academies in the country and the exposure of our local agents. Before Rohr took over, Salisu called a fairly strong squad too. Under Keshi, we did not have the talents available. Worst part is that despite the talents available, Rohr lacks the tactical insight to come up and develop the best crop of talents in each position. |

bobobooge:Salisu Release 26-Man Super Eagles Squad for Next Month’s Friendlies (April 28, 2016) The new coaching crew of the Nigeria senior national team has released a list of 26 players to prosecute the coming international friendly games against Mali and Luxembourg. Interim super Eagles coach Salisu Yusuf has recalled Afcon 2013 star Brown Ideye, while the forgotten William Troost-Ekong also made a return to the side. The Full Squad: Goalkeepers: 1. Carl Ikeme (Wolverhampton Wanderers, England) 2. Daniel Akpeyi (Chippa United, South Africa) 3. Ikechukwu Ezenwa (Sunshine Stars) Defenders: 4. Abdullahi Shehu (Uniao da Madeira, Portugal) 5. Musa Muhammed (Istanbul Basaksehir, Turkey) 6. Elderson Echiejile (AS Monaco, France) 7. Kingsley Madu (AS Trencin, Slovakia) 8. Kenneth Omeruo (Kasimpasa SK, Turkey) 9. Leon Balogun (Mainz 05, Germany) 10. Gbenga Arokoyo (Gaziantepspor, Turkey) 11. William Troost Ekong (Haugesund FC, Norway) 12. Chidozie Awaziem (FC Porto, Portugal) Midfielders: 13. Ogenyi Onazi (SS Lazio, Italy) 14. John Mikel Obi (Chelsea FC, England) 15. Kelechi Iheanacho (Manchester City, England) 16. Wilfred Ndidi KRC Genk, Belgium) 17. Raheem Lawal (Osmanlispor FK, Turkey) 18. Etebo Oghenekaro (SC Farense, Portugal) Forwards: 19. Ahmed Musa (CSKA Moscow, Russia) 20. Moses Simon (KAA Gent, Belgium) 21. Victor Moses (West Ham United, England) 22. Odion Ighalo (Watford FC, England) 23. Alex Iwobi (Arsenal FC, England) 24. Aminu Umar (Osmanlispor FK, Turkey) 25. Aaron Samuel (CSKA Moscow, Russia) 26. Brown Ideye (Olympiakos FC, Greece) https://www.nigerianbulletin.com/threads/salisu-release-26-man-super-eagles-squad-for-next-month%E2%80%99s-friendlies.207516/ This was a fairly strong list before Rohr took over and you can see the spine is still the Spine of Rohr's team. So it is pitiful when we make it look as if Rohr waved a magic wand and made the Super Eagles have quality players. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Nobody: 10:37am On Jan 27, 2019 |
TheGoodJoe:I do not totally agreed with you. Rohr's input in the growth and competition in our national team cannot be overstated. In time past, coaches like Oliseh called up Ekong but did not play him on grounds that 'He is not black enough to play African teams' Alex Iwobi was called up but not played. Despite the successes of the U17 and academies Keshi of blessed memory found it hard to cap Iheanacho, Nwakali and the likes but preferred to stick to local and unfit players. Siasia is not left out. Rohr so far has shown best practices in selecting the squad and capping new players. He scouted and brought in Idowu when we had full back problems. He brought in Uzoho, Collins etc. Look at the special attention he gave to Chukwuwze in the game he debuted against Uganda. He recognises talents and useful additions. It is the Rohr factor that has brought the discipline, growth and competition to our team not the academies. These players have always been there yet the likes of Oliseh preferred Onobi in his midfield over Mikel. Please do not under emphasize the impact of Rohr in the teams growth. He never gives up on improving the team. He scouts, he talks to coaches to play is boys, he advises them on transfers. Look how much of our boys moved after the WC. Rohr has been the massive impact, not the academies. |

bobobooge:Look at Salisu's list and tell me Rohr had an impact in the current spine of the Super Eagles. I think you are giving him more credit than he deserves. The crust of the team was there before Rohr. |

TheGoodJoe:Salisu's team is basic and limited. Tell me what impact the U17 and academies success played in the following; 1. Solving the RB problem with the addition of Collins and Idowu 2. Solving the GK problem after Carl fell sick 3. Bringing strict competition with the call up of the likes of Sanrenren bazee, Ebuehi etc? My point: The success of Rohr's team is beyond the recent successes of our U17s and academies. Give him kudos for his input. |

Oga rohr's impact on the team is evident till date. He has infused more young talents and is out to scout and bring in more quality to the team unlike our previous coaches. Rohr has his own flaws but when it comes to players management and scouting I think he is the best we have had after westahof. This is a man who make out time to visit some of our players, watch them play and also dialogue with clubs where some of our players a denied enough playing time. The likes of keshi and Co will never give chukwueze a chance so soon, he will be told he isn't strong enough and should start out with the u20 team ![]() TheGoodJoe: |

charlesemeka85:The same Keshi we know who fielded an amateur Omeruo at the AFCON who became one of the best defenders in the competition is who you want us to believe will not field a regular at Villarreal. Na wa. |

charlesemeka85:That is the simple point. Not Rohr. Keshi had limited quality talents available. Rohr came at the time our talents started blossoming. Salisu's list proves it. |

bobobooge:The Spine of Rohr’s team was already there before his arrival. So putting the current crop of players on him is unrealistic. |

If the guy accepts to rep us we shouldn't hesitate to bring him him. He is good enough for us and still have the room to develop as a young player komekn: |
