Thanks. Would you advise me to remove my thermostat too cos of the extreme hot weather?

Never remove your thermostat. Find out what's causing the engine to overheat and fix it.

That oil is not for use in Nigeria especially as we drive under severe conditions and extreme hot weather.

Please how much is the cost of engine for that car?

Car manufacturer said use 0w20, you said the oil isn't for use in Nigeria but we can use the vehicle in Nigeria.

We have almost identical ratings tho.. I have nine 1 star ratings too.. One of em rated me 1 star Cuz I refused to allow 6 people in the car.. Another for refusing to speed up on a bad road Cuz she didn't want her money to "go up"
Pretty unfortunate riders I'd say.

I now strongly believe riders need serious educating.i only did 3 trips yesterday nine none of Dem was bad, dey were good trips riders were happy and yet one of Dem still rated me 1 star and I strongly believe that person no understand how to rate seriously just dey drop my score for no sensible reason...

Lol.

Well, I have a 2012 Kia Picanto bought brand new in December 2012 with current mileage at 145k kilometres and I have used 20W50 oil to service it every 5k kilometres.

I know a few people who used the 0W20 and they've had to change their cars while mine still purrs like a kitten.

The disadvantage of the 20W50 is that it has more engine resistance which translates to a slightly worse fuel economy but it provides better engine protection especially when driving under extreme conditions.

Hello,
I was asked to pay 25500 to register my car with Uber if I want a driver from them and 10500 if I have my driver. And two account numbers were sent to me to pay in, one had Uber name and the other is a personal name. Please is this the normal procedure?

Bolded is very wrong in everyday vehicles sir. Lighter oils provide better lubrication for intended engines. The people with damaged engines most likely had prior engine issues.

I am sure you would be glad to see what your car engine look like when opened.

I wouldn't use 20W50 to service my car. The least I have ever used is 5W30.

Same car was used on Uber for 7 months running purely on 0W20 and 5W30 (When I can source 0W20) and I didn't have any issues with it except for the regular preventive maintenance.

I enjoyed better fuel economy and I doubt if 20W50 would provide better engine protection especially when driving under extreme conditions for his 2010 Corolla or mine (2012).

Cars used on ehailing are pushed to the extreme limit on a daily basis, so I believe using what the car maker recommend gives you some comforts.

What some people don't get is your engine oil filter is as important as your engine oil. So using recommended engine oil without a corresponding recommended oil filter is an effort in futility.

Allow him stick to the vehicle maker recommended engine oil viscosity and weight.

grin grin grin

This is my vehicle dash, I average 11.5 - 12.1 ltr per 100km.
