Ogbeche was playing and scoring in the dutch league which is a good league up till last year.

Taiwo has not played at a decent level for a long time.

Yes taiwo has been on decline since ,playing in Finland says a lot about that

He was 17 in 2002.

He played U20 at the age of 16 in 2001

The hype on him was really high then. I don't even know why we placed so much expectations on a 17years old kid then.

Na so una dey talk. That was how they were saying Kanu was already 40 when he was at Portsmouth. Over 10years down the lane does he look like a 50years old man now?

He was young in 2002 whatever his age was. The age, he claimed might be correct. It is not easy to play at that level for a long time.

We all know the truth in our mind make we leave matter

I like you guys here because you stand for naija players and that's nice ,I will say many naija players faked their age just because it's a faceless forum ,can't try that somewhere else .

Just the way we are placing so much expectation on chukwueze now,it's normal in football

Same thing goes to 17 years old Vinicius junior of Brazil

Is Barcelona still reigning? Why did this system not help them against Roma last season & Athletico the seasons before
Bayern dominated Bundesliga but didn't dominate Europe. Was it tiki-taka that got them in the finals against Chelsea and Dortmund?
Manchester City are smashing records but can't win rat in Europe
Germany won WC and couldn't make it out of their group afterwards, Won Euros and was kicked out in QF afterwards
Belgium don't play tiki-taka in its entirety

What are you defending, any strategy worth its salt would produce result for a time but it eventually becomes caged.
Have you seen what Boga Jonito (or what do they call Brazilian style) has gotten Brazil in the last 5years both club and National team?
Bayern Munich under Guardiola played the Champions league Semi Finals three times. That is an impressive result. By the way, the current Brazilian team is far from the crop of Brazilians that played Joga Bonito. It got really adulterated when Dunga took over and infused a Conservative idea into the Brazilian game. I hope Brazil switches back to the raw form of Joga Bonito. I always hoped Leonardo takes the reigns of Brazil to help correct it.

Manchester City is a growing team. It is people who are illogical about football that think Winning trophies in Europe is a walk in the park. It takes a lot of luck to pick it. What shows strength is consistency in performances. Like how Bayern Munich made it to the finals repeatedly without winning. That was good quality and form. Not saying because they did not win then, they were not a good team.

Are the Dutch playing Total football anymore?
For me, the beauty of the game now lies in those moments that transcend the ordinary. The first time I watched that Barcelona team led by Pep Guardiola is one such example. Seeing the ruthless counter-pressing efficiency of Jurgen Klopp’s Borussia Dortmund at the peak of their powers is another.

This week I had this experience again when watching the Dutch comprehensively pick apart the French national team. Their victims are largely untouched since winning the World Cup just a few months ago. It was not that the 2-0 scoreline was overly impressive. It was rather the manner that the Dutch side played in picking apart a strong French side.

I read something in the aftermath of the match which sums the experience up completely. I apologise, but the source escapes me. When rating the French players in the match, the author gave N’Golo Kante a low to middling score. His explanation was that Kante ‘could not run as fast as the Dutch passed the ball’. That in itself encapsulates the Dutch performance in this match and deserves greater examination.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/totalfootballanalysis.com/match-analysis/the-netherlands-tactical-analysis-uefa-nations-league-18-19/amp

The Dutch might not play the pure brand of Rinus Michels but is an innovative adaptation to it. From the likes of Guardiola and Klopp who are students of the theory.

Remember Johan Cruyff played under Rinus Michels and Guardiola and the current coach of Netherlands, Ronald Koeman played under Cruyff. So they have their adaptations and interpretations to make the system work for them.

Results like this are the reason Leicester won't be sacking Puel soon..

If he didn't play conservative football, they'd be in the relegation zone by now... 7 points off Chelsea, Liverpool and City within one month is no mean feat...

Nacho can still apply for a loan move before the window closes tomorrow since the man they claim.isn't allowing him to shine won't be leaving so soon...
