Forget story of passenger flying with packages.. all those are formality. It is just want shippers want you to hear. I know all these because I worked at the cargo dept of an international airline.

300lbs is approximately 140kg.
Considering 53kg( 23kg x2 + 7kg ) is already catered for from the normal allowance, can't we pay for excess luggage on the remaining 87kg?
Please do the maths and let's reason it out. The best way to go about this is to exhaust each option before moving on to the next.

Don't let assumed what might happen through mikky, let lionlee have a proper discussion with him on how he might help him to freight those items,even if it is 5 -10 days shipping and we all receive our items in 2 -3 weeks time,atleast it will save us those additional charges on those Phones. Lionlee should contact mikky on how he could use him. My own suggestion

How about you take the goods to DHL ?. They have their own plane and all and we would receive the goods in like 3 days. It's expensive but I think we can all come up with the money if it is more than what Lionlee set aside initially. DHL charges reasonable price for items of this magnitude. I feel for the January 11th guys. Even the January 25th. It's not easy at all. Some clients paid upfront and won't want to be hearing stories upon stories. Some guys here have spent a lot of money hoping to recover when their items arrive. This won't happen everytime obviously as we have had smoother transactions in the past. But let's tackle this and everybody would feel alright. Cheers

Thank you bro.. like I said up there, no shipper will tell you what is happening really. When I was working with an airline, it's a security breach for your to tell friends and families what's going on inside.

Mikky 2 days shipping is approximately 10 days apart, worst 14 days. If he ships twice a month. That is 24 times a year

Do you actually believe that US Immigration will allow someone in and out of their country every two weeks and keep stamping the passenger in and out?

If yes, do you actually believe a passenger will pass through Nigeria immigration and say "hey, I have 40 boxes being shipped to Nigeria and the calculation of custom duties is N100,000. Oya bring truck make I carry my load".

I guess some things that are allowed in hand luggage won't be allowed in the main luggage as mentioned...

It looks like sorting out information from people who works at airport or with airline could provide solid information on what to do... It looks like falling back to Lionlee's option A or B would be better... If there is guarantee

Just earlier this year, DHL was gonna charge me $400 to ship one Note 9 from USA to Nigeria... So DHL isn't an Option.!

Something just pop up in my mind... How about trying shoptomydoor... They have good options and the more the items the lesser the charges becomes. What I'm not sure of is, can they welcome such huge package?
They ship twice in a week and their location (warehouse) is in Houston Texas.
But that's a long drive too... Guess 18-20 hours

I spent almost 10 minutes talking to a dhl representative in the US. She asked for my zip code and I gave her Lionlees 60620. She asked for the content which I told her phones and laptops. Then she asked of weight and I told her 300 pounds. She told me if sent today, would arrive Nigeria Wednesday and I would spend a total of a thousand dollars($1,000)

In lieu of this, Pickup will start on Sunday and 2 days shipping fee will apply and by thursday/friday by 4am, I and Daaz will be making a 25hrs trip to drop off the shipment for a 2 day shipping.

Bro, since you'll get the 300lb shipments on Monday, why not send it alongside the 2 day shipping on Thursday/Friday that you mentioned above? What's the challenge?

By the way, I still don't understand the waiting time for the 2 days shipping. IMO, It's no longer 2 days if we have to wait more than 3 days for items to arrive here in Nigeria. Case in point: Mikky shipped items on Jan 28th and they were available for pickup today.

Who's gonna pay for custom charges.

Its $11,103.42 to ship 400lbs.

Better late than never. I think the best options are the safest which time me is what we've been used to before. This issue is also hindering lionlee and I'm very sure he provided us with the best options he thinks are safe for now.

Why not choose either of the options instead of experimenting with millions of naira at stake?

Try anything stupid and before you know you're being asked for taxes of almost the same amount of not more than you bought the phones.

Plus I think the prices lionlee quoted above for the new shipping is the total and we're only expected to balance to what we've already paid.

*I Actuality have a 2 days shipping this Sat(2nd february), but not much items available to ship until the next ship date 16th Feb(sure date) ..So my advice is, for phones ", U SHIP VIA USPS PRIORTY (2 DAYS SHIPPING FROM CHICAGO TO CALI......SAY on 13th to it can Arrive 15th)....OR u use Over NIGHT EXPRESS. (express).....
