This is not exactly true.
The poe officials don't discriminate based on the airline you use.

My brother it is too true

Please say on fact and what you know. They do so
It is a well known fact. If you’re a frequent flyer over here or have friends flying over here.

Do you realize that Randburg has two parts. There’s the white side and the black people side I mentioned? Do you have past or do you walk past every day? Randburg is where I do Nigerian groceries.

I am and have used different airlines including SAA (and as far back as Arik), the airline doesn't determine your treatment at poe. Its akin to saying that you get special treatment at Heathrow because you fly British Airways.

I stand by what I said earlier. PoE officials at OR Thambo don't discriminate based on the airline you use. If you are qualified for entry, you will be granted and not based on the airline you use.

I have two people in came into SA last week, both first timers. One Used SAA was given two weeks stay, the other used Air Namibia and was given 90 day stay. Going by your logic, the reverse should have been the case.

Any one who's coming to SA, if you can afford SAA fine (saves you time on transit) if you can't, use any airline that you can afford.

IT IS NOT ADVISABLE TO BOOK KENYAN AIRWAYS COMING TO SA AS A FIRST TIME VISITOR. ALOT OF PEOPLE FACE HARD TIMES AT PEOPLE AND HAVE BEEN RETURNED BACK WITH NO VALID REASONS. USE THEIR NATIONAL CARRIER.
Please, stop spreading false news here. I went to Joburg last year with Kenya airways.

On what visa? You’re the one spreading false news. did I tell you they return every single person that fly with other airlines excluding SAA? Please talk like a learned person. I personally know about four people that were returned using other airlines. Even agencies like wakanow which I use will advice you to fly with SAA

90 days stay on what Visa category? multiple or single entry? My logic does not tell you every single person flying to SA on a visit Visa will be returned if they use a different airline other than SAA. I have friends that used Rwand air for the first time and were. I also have friends that were not returned, came back again using SAA and were accepted. Don’t compare a passport with travel history to a virgin one on one month visit visa. It is only adviseable to you their national carrier as they mostly don’t bother at POE OR thambo or ask you tons of questions or verification. Also SAA is direct flight.

A British immigration officer and a South African immigration officer are not THE SAME so it cannot be saying the same thing.

Clean your mouth. You’re the daft one that’s giving wrong advices and not even answering questions. You only have two friends. If your two friends were not returned. Does that mean a person is saying untrue facts? I have never been denied a visa before by any country. Does that mean by your logic everyone’s visa to any country gets approved. You take statistics before you say a fact.

Yup , I agree with you .. Fly with SA airways .. I’ve been to SA twice and I flew with there national carrier the two times . I didn’t encounter any problem nor questioning . In fact , they didn’t ask for my Yellow while they asked my mate who flew with air Rwanda . SAA is not too expensive , I’d advise you fly with them if you are a first time traveler .

Peace and good luck to everyone

it has been said here earlier. They give you a harder time if you don’t fly with their national carrier.

Summary of everything I have said on this subject is that PoE who have issues at OR Thambo do so most likely because they don't have their story straight, incomplete documents or issues with accommodation but not because they didn't fly SAA.

It's categorically false to suggest that PoE officials at OR Thambo discriminate based on if travellers either first timer or frequent traveller don't use SAA.

It's simply not true and very misleading.

Questions that are asked at OR Thambo are usually at the discretion of the PoE official and not based on the airline the passengers use.

And if the traveler is found wanting, he/she may sent back and not because they didn't fly with SAA.

I don't agree with your post. There is nothing wrong with Kenyan Airways. The only things that could be wrong is if the traveller does not have a valid document at the point of entry. I have used Kenya Airways from Nigeria and there was no issue for me at the point of entry.

Instead of arguing about which airline used at POE will be returned rather advise people to hold some few dollars for the the immigration officer Incase he wants to return you because of issues that can be overseen, because they collect bribe.

People like you the problem of Nigeria.

I have flown rwandair and Kenyan airways. Having no issues but thoroughly screened. I have flown SAA and had zero issues. Was even asked to do “ewallet”.

Tell the people that have only travelled to SA twice with their own experience and claim they know all.
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Juwohn: 6:41pm On Feb 02, 2019
I quite agree with you.
The issue is not with stamps at the POE.
The issue is the level of screening by officials.
My experience is that your country of departure and airline matters alot.

Maybe RwandaAir flyers might have a different experience, but I've hardly seen anyone who flew ARIK (when it was still operating th JHB - LOS route) have a good experience at the point of entry.

Thank you. And loud it for the people at the back. I’m not saying everyone gets returned using a different airline other than SAA. I’m generally talking about the POE experience!

Found this thread and had to register on Nairaland.

Buy foodstuffs at Jburg south. If you buy at Randburg. Your money will disappear and you won’t know what you spent it on.

Yes, when you get to hillbrow there are signs saying you’re now in a crime hotspot.
I'm really worried seeing a lot of not safe, not safe zones mentioned everywhere. Does it mean Nigeria is safer than SA? Let me just vacation in my Nigeria in peace. grin someone should tell me something abeg

No lol those places are the hood with a lot of foreigners without jobs. They hustle there. If you’re coming for vacation, you’ll be fine. A lot of people come to SA for vacation. But beware of the airport environment when you are leaving the airport and don’t stop for nothing.
