I just got a Lexus es330. After the oil and filter changing, I noticed the car is shaking a little and whenever I start the car after like 12hours of not using it, the check engine light blinks and stay ON afterwards. Please anyone with similar experience and how to sort it. I intend to scan the car soon.

Probably a misfire, do post scan code after scanning.

I'm very curious to know why I can see a 2012 kia Rio starting from N750,000.
Has it been Kazeemfied or are Rios that poor in second hand value?

They have poor 2nd hand value especially the manual transmission. but they are good and reliable too.

Is this potentially asking for trouble?

Ever wondered, what the most expensive car to drive on our Nigeria road might be, we took our time in compiling this list and if you look around the web you will find lots of versions, and here is our top 10 and accurate 11 in the country, and how much they are worth in dollars.

That particular sample clean one in working condition with manual transmission is around 1.2m that one shouldn't go for the 750k means the car has hidden fault or santa clause came early for Xmas.

The issue with the 2012 upwards kia and hyundai is their compressor fails, then when engine overheat or gets faulty the price for replacement is hundreds of thousands, a few cash shy of 1million

anything not Toyota Lexus Honda has poor second hand value in Nigeria. The reason is perception people thing other brands have no technician and parts aren't available in the market and when available they may cost more than know brands the reverse is often the case.

Thank you @nurey for your opinion. I'm in a bit of a bind. I need a serviceable vehicle of about N700,000 Max (Nigerian used) for about a 6months so I'm looking on the cheap. Would you advice this then

if it's good enough for others then it's good enough for you. The picanto pick the facelift 2008 upwards with round headlamp against the boxy headlamp. The rio whether it is 1st genration or second is also good, just ensure the 1st genration you pick is injector engine not carburettor.

How much for the engine and transmission of the picanto?

The Honda pilot is actually good but what most people don't get is an affordable Nigerian used vehicle in a buy and drive condition has a fix needing attention immediately after purchase. If that pilot is sold for 700k you will spend between 50k to 100k to enjoy for a while.

since its SUV you want only look for this vehicle

isuzu/Honda/opel/vauxhall - Rodeo/pilot/frontera/frontera they are 95% same vehicle in different badge

Isuzu/Acura/Opel - trooper/SLX/Monterrey they are 95% same vehicle.

The beauty about this vehicles is they are cheap, they come in 2WD and 4WD it is as strong and high in reliability as the 4runner even better as it doesn't have the leg pull. they all have same 3.2L engine and parts, so the pilot part will fit exactly into the opel etc the only difference is badge and interior finish.

Nigerian used in good condition with AC is 500k it has no known factory issue with good bargaining chip you can buy 1 for 350k in lagos.

after buying just do maintenance touch up

new spark plugs OEM recommended
new timing belt
water pump
bushings and absorbers
new tires
flashing and body work where necessary
Gear fluid change
Revert kazzemized connections to factory
all this wouldn't cost 200k.

400k + 200k =600k and you will enjoy it for a year without issues if you buy brand new OEM parts.

vehicle 400k

brand new parts 200k if you buy tokunbo you won't spend upto 200k but you won't also enjoy free 1year no spending

fueling for a year 100k

total 700k

Thanks Nurey for the good work you're doing here.. Please i will like you to do comparison with rav4 v6 engine

Fuel Economy
Maintenance
And Cheep parts
Can the Pilot be Used for long Journey once in a month
And things to look our for

The pilot can be used for long journeys

Fuel economy Rav4 V6

Maintenance Rav4 smaller less breakdown and fwd cheap parts against 4wd

Cheap parts is subjective. The 3.5L in the pilot may be cheaper than the 3.5L in the Rav4 depending on year and some minor things. But overall suspension parts and fluid change which would be the constant things the rav4 is cheaper.

The pilot I haven't heard much complaints but most Nigerian used suv always have suspension noise so do a check for that and rust also.

Hello house.

I am new here please. I want to ask if its safe to use D2 or D3 gear. Reason is that D is not moving the car except I put it to D2.

What could have been the issue and I hope driving with D2 won't damage the gear until I see a mechanic?

I need advice please
