Get Nigeria Working Again..., The Looter's Amnesty Way by 9jatriot(op): 11:00am On Feb 04, 2019
Atiku's campaign slogan has always been to get Nigeria working again and many sane people have always wondered if there was any time in the history of Nigeria that it was really working that Atiku wanted to take us to. Well, it turns out that that state is a phrase and as such is not complete in itself. What it really means is "Getting Nigeria Working Again ... for Looters", how do I know this? Atiku himself indirectly revealed it in a media chat in Lagos where he said he planned to make his friends rich. Not sure if his friends understood the message, he again on the platform of "The Candidtate" stated he plans to grant amnesty to looters, the type GEJ granted to Alamieyeseigha. For PDP and Atiku, that is their own version of how Nigeria was working then.

Most developed countries do not have citizens whose first instinct is to be corrupt so they largely have simple processes to deal with the few who have such qualities. In Japan for example, a man can commit suicide by the mere allegation of being corrupt even if there is no concrete proof for it. The Chinese on the other hand have a tendency to be corrupt which is why corruption carries a capital punishment, but for PDP, Atiku and Obi, getting Nigeria working again is embrace their corrupt friends and grant them amnesty. No talk of sending them to prison, how won't corrupt politician, supporters of corruption and judges want them in power?

The world is watching and hoping we are not really considering voting a government that is not even hiding the fact that they support corruption, how you vote on the 16th of February will determine to a large extent how you measure up with your age grade in the rest of the world.

The Nigerian dream is to have starched brocade and a G-wagon.

'Win it you can, lose if you must, but always cheat' is the slogan.

Op, you are way off point. Buhari will not get Nigeria working again. I forsee violent instability if things continue the way they are presently. Boys in the creek are on standby, ipob is waiting for any excuse, BH has not been defeated, Zamfara is in crisis. Your false integrity is not enough to sustain this country. As it is, Nigeria is in the Emergency Room and we need a man of sound mind to manage her out of ER. Buhari is definitely not that man!

May be you are not totally wrong after all, that Nigeria is in "ER". But do you think such a reckless pronouncement would ever get Nigeria working again?......... You guys fail to acknowledge the fact that it's indeed a systematic way of encouraging looting of our treasury!

It's simply saying to the unrepentant looters that one can actually loot, but do ensure that you're not caught.

It's simply saying that once you are able to invest the looted money in the country, then you are free from any form prosecution!

For me, this is indeed a sad commentary in the history of our dear nation!

We are indeed going no where!

And again can you actually state it clearly how this method will dissuade people from looting our treasury?
Thanks!

Let's be realistic, you can only grow an economy by capital. Capital is basically funding. The present govt claims to fight corruption but once the thief joins their party, he or she is forgiven.

The incoming govt has given a template they are gonna work with. Even the notorious thieves of the past would be allowed to bring their loot nack to th country instead of owning wristwatch mmanufacturing companies in Switzerland. This is a workable model.

Dissuading people from stealing is very good bit if they manage somehow to steal, it's better they invest it immediately back in the economy. That way, there is no loss as the money goes back to the people. Our major problem is not that there is no money. The problem is that there is no effective way of ensuring the money goes round. Over time, we will build institutions that would prevent stealing but for now, we need emergency measures!
