chrisbaxtian:No one else is coming out and not everything is what you think, when he was busy investing heavily in Cement production why is there no one investing heavily in Refinery in Nigeria? Government policies is part of Business whether you like it or not and it is the Government duty to make Favourable policies and make the Market Favourable for Investors and Private sectors in a Country, you can not blame him for taking advantage of the Government Policies because it is also part of the business and he can not just invest anywhere if there is no Government policies that make the Market Favourable, it is pure Business. |

ojuu4u:Bailout is different from offering someone an unfair advantage. One for bailout is for a company that exists and people will definitely lose jobs without the bailout. Two, you are arguing about is the same is for a company that does not even exist and people do not have jobs in them. Apples and oranges bro. They are not the same. |

Olawalesmarter:Government does not have a role in business in saner climes. The role of government is regulation and providing an enabling environment for business. Chikena. As for bailout, government is only concerned about the job losses and the trickle down effect on the economy. And the business you even talked about does not even exist! People have not been hired or even started work! So where are the job losses going to come from. What is wrong is wrong. I have said my own. |

yemi15:I don't like argument sir, I mentioned at least 3 advantages, meanwhile you said company not exist, uhmmm, you are wrong, Dangote refinery exists, people have been working thr as employees since 3 years now, he sent some batch of engineers to India, it will only becomes FULLY operational next year , where tens of thousands would be working there.... direct and indirect jobs. U also talked about bailout, if it's Nigeria that govt gives bailout to individual coy, you will be the first person to condem it, .....in economics they call them INCENTIVE. ( Bailout, forex, tax holiday, not paying tax atime etc) Judgemental is not positive behavior, bye |
| Re: ‘Dangote Refinery’ll Not Sell Petrol At Regulated Price’- The Nation by Olawalesmarter(m): 3:21pm On Feb 04, 2019 |
yemi15:Don't say what you don't know out of hatred or ignorance, Many Nigerians have been employed and hired i watched a Video on UTUBE that showed thousand working on the Refinery and Some Engineers were sent abroad to gain more knowledge about how to work in the Refinery and many more people will still be employ, this will bring a lot of Change to Nigeria positively. NNPC is a bottomless Pit that have been sinking Billions of Naira for decade, you can't keep doing the same thing over and over again and Expect different result. Government have a lot of role in business if you don't know |

Olawalesmarter:Has the refinery started? No. So all that training means na da. They are not working currently. If they were working, bailout could suffice. |

Racoon:Use your brain. The man said he'll fix his price in accordance with international standard. He'll sell at international price to Nigeria. We won't have to spend so much shipping it. And since shipping expenses are not there, the price will be lower than our local pump rice |

yemi15:You're obviously not as smart as you think you are. That's the reason you instantly misunderstood the point I was trying to make, and instead of asking for a clarification (as normal people do), you jumped instantly to unleash insults (which is the typical approach of dull people trying to look smart). |

Olawalesmarter:Privatization is not the only way to stop corruption in Nigeria and can never be. Instead of privatizing what the government should own, how about outsourcing the recruitment instead to a company such as dragnet to hire people on merit thereby stopping nepotism that is the more serious and salient problem than the corruption you mentioned. If people are not hired on merit, how do you expect them to be accountable to anyone? That is a food for thought. My 2 cents. |

yemi15:people that were even hired on merit also engage in corruption. If every sector is privatize, they will only hire people on merit and they will not only hire people on merit they will be adequately supervise because the people in charge will not want to be out of Business and there will be no safe environment for Corruption, anyone that try to engage in corruption will be catch easily and dismiss and no one will want to lose their Job, and the people in charge of the business will try everything to make sure they are doing well so as to stay in business. The Government Job will be to tax, regulate and help all these private sectors activities and make sure their services is not detrimental to the People in every aspect Easy Peasy. It is working for developed countries and it will also work for us |
