How Companies Pay It Owners & Shareholders - Entrepreneurs by Xperienx(m): 3:47pm On Feb 04, 2019
Please I would like to get advice from each and every fan of NL business forum.
I wantvto set up a company but due to insufficient capital, I have decided to get like 3 of my friends involved.
The fact now is, I want to make them shareholders in the company and not partnership. I have about 51% of the capital needed and they have raised 49% together.
So I would like to fully understand how this shares of a thing works, how companies pay it shareholders, devidends, how they still retain money for it development (like setting up other branches) and how capital account works.
I have little knowledge but still need more and i know am supposed to meet with an attorney but since I don't have any for now, your contributions put together would be far more helpful to me and others who wants to learn as well.
Just explain the little you can in any part of the question and we all learn. Thanks

since you have 51% you will take 51% of the profits while your friends takes 49% of the profits example if you make a 200k profit and decide to reinvest 100k and share 100k among each other then you will get 51k while your friends get 49k
