Did you read my comment? Your mother is the stupid one here for raising an ugly soul like you.

OP said her husband told her he doesnt have a bank account and I simply asked if she believes that tale, then you foolishly jump on me here insulting your ancestors for my comment you obviously misunderstood.

Are you mad or iliterate, which?
Am I the OP, and even if I were, what calls for your useless tantrums?

I've tried so many times asking for him to be honest. He told me he will not tell me a lie. I've told him I don't want to waste my years building a marriage with him and he has another wife. Apart from this we have no issues. He treats me great. We both are hard workers. He wants his kids to come over to stay and I agree because they need their father.. I'm just afraid if he has plans for the "ex wife" to come then I'm being made a fool of.
You can ask him a million of times to be honest with you but he is from another culture where men tell you what you wanna hear, his family, his mother too. In Nigeria people used to live between lies. And yes, he can be very nice to you yet sending money to his traditional wife (wives) and being very nice to them, his mother will tell you what she thinks to protect her son and her own future, they all are moving to America and you will be one of his wives, he will bring his kids and it's the way for him to bring the mother(s) of his kids too. It's all planned and you are the whole family meal ticket. If you like to live in polygamy, just stay but be aware, he could divorce you very soon as for a Nigerian American marriage means nothing unless he does a Traditional marriage with you in his village and in front of his family and elderly respecting his own tribe people.

My husband and I have a 4 month old baby. He has 2 kids back home in Nigeria ages 6 and 4. From the start of our courtship he told me his ex wife remarried and moved away and his sister is raising his kids. For Christmas, his sister posted pictures on Facebook and the ex wife was in the photos with the kids. When I asked about her he said his mom thought it would be a good idea if the ex wife spent the Holidays visiting the kids. I asked his sister if I could call her often to speak with the kids and she said she is busy during the day and that her friend keeps the kids and so I should call on weekends and Holidays . I saw the divorce decree. Is it possible they are still married traditionally? Would the wife remain with him even though we have a child together? If he is scamming why have a child with me and build a life etc versus finding contract marriage? Help me please
He is likely scamming you,but if u love him,u can still put up with him,at least u wld be the abroad wife, the Nigerian one would remain the Nigerian wife,so simple grin grin ,Dont dwell on some thoughts jare, life is really very simple

Simple for Nigerians, not simple for Americans, we usually do NOT accept any other woman in our marriage and life. If she see with her own eyes his lies, she will divorce him fast. To the Topic Starter, you have a child with him and you mentioned he has a good job making a good money, calm down, watch out and if you see you can't tolerate other women in your husband's life, prepare well the divorce and get a big child support, you are in America and you are his LEGAL wife here, just get all from him and watch him paying for your child. Sorry, it is sad, be strong and take care of yourself and your child.

Sorry everyone I meant no harm by saying Igbo. I assumed that's how you all relate by tribes. My husband always speaks about Nigerians according to their tribe. Also I dont have an issue with the mother being in the kids life. My issue is for 2 years he has been telling me she isn't in the picture and that his sister raises the kids. In America that isn't the norm for a woman to leave her kids. He said he paid the bride price for her to born a son so he can gain his deceased father's land as though it was a business deal. Also we recently applied for passports for his mom and 2 kids to come visit. I'm just concerned that the ex wife may still be with him and he is lying. He told me it's not possible because he has been in America 2 years n she wouldn't wait on him.

My dear u are being scammed no woman would leave her kids to any woman. 2 he does not loose any money converting dollars to naira. In fact he gains cos d naira is very low compared to dollars. Well since u mentioned igbo I guess I must tell u d truth it's their way u see dem in this type of practices. U are been used to get a green card ur baby is the collateral for d green card. The wife might even know u. I have a neighbor like Dat who begs me for sex cos her husband is with another woman abroad. Both families knows but as long as d man sends money the Nigerians wife's family is fine. Use ur fucking head.

Which part of Nigeria do you husband's children and mother live?
Find a lawyer (I could give you a contact),pay him or her a small fee to go to the court where they got d divorce and investigate if the papers are genuine.
Start from there.
I hate cheats, but there's a remote chance he's telling d truth too.

Oga,in Africa, women leave their children to the man or even his family almost half of the time.

Headless chicken , I talk to his mom weekly so does that mean she is in on the scam too? She was in the pictures with the ex wife. When I ask him to show me proof that he is sending the money to his mom.He claims his uncle sends money to his mom for him because he doesnt have a bank in Nigeria and would lose money when converting from US dollars. We do have American men but they can be immature at times.
yes,he is correct about that.
If he sends it via western union,he is going to lose money and might not be as quick as the black market method.

He doesn't have a Nigerian account and you believe that shit?
Lies men tell!!!
how and why should he have a Nigerian account while he isn't here?
What dajazzyone meant was he uses black market transfer instead of WU because of charges and lower naira equivalence compared to it's alternative.
Don't just rush to conclusions so you could seem smart!People do that all the time.
As for dajazzyone, why would a gold digger buy you $30k+ truck?
Are you rich?do you have a trust fund he knows about or inheritance?
If not, then it's a pure act of love most of your men won't/can't do.
I think he is a good ma and you should be grateful.
Don't let most of these broke haters destroy your marriage.
Goodluck! cool

It's America.
1. I would see what does she have and if she started to mingle her finances with him
2. Buying her a truck when he has a job, easy, credit and go to buy then pay during 3-5 years. The question is if he bought this truck on her name? If her name is on the lease/credit? And what if they divorce? Will he get the truck and she will be stuck with payments on it?
3. Buying her a truck on credit could be the way to mix her and his finances and if there is divorce, he would lose small amount he paid (not over 30K but maybe 3K paying credit) and dividing her car and her house in half, properties she owns and worth much more.
In America we don't buy cars or houses cash, not 30K he paid, we have a cheap credit.

you sound like CREDIT means FREE.btw not everyone uses a PAYMENT PLAN in AMERICA,so speak for yourself.
Also,i know it's America and need not be reminded about it.
Divorce?She still gets the truck,so?

she gets the truck and will be stuck with 28K debt on it and he will get half of her house minimum 100K

and yes, in America we use credit for to buy a car because the interest is so cheap, only drug dealers buy cash or criminals here. Any person knows it's silly to pay cash when we can pay small monthly fees and keep cash for other things.

And if you don't use credit, your cash is badly seen, some companies will not deal with you, big cash payment is immediately investigated. People who has no credit history, can't go places, rent a hotel room or a a car, etc. Bad credit means no life in America.

I think you are being used. Most of us Nigerians are dubious and heartless. Like others have said, you are a pathway to his green card and as soon as his done his divorcing you.
