One of the fast growing private University in Nigeria, Mountain Top University (MTU) who came Second in the overall Nigerian universities NUC OER ranking in 2018 performs a 7-day prayer session for Nigeria which started on 11th Feb, Monday and to end on 15th of Feb, Friday. Gistvic Reports.

The prayer program was for 30mins, 12:00 - 12:30.

The prayer program was also enforced upon staffs as lateness wasn't condoled. Few staff and students who came late for the program were forced to make their own prayers outside the chapel under the hot sun.

The Vice Chancellor, Elijah Ayolabi believes this prayer was necessary for the betterment and progress of Nigeria and also for free and fare election in the upcoming election. Gistvic Reports.

I just cannot get paste the name Mountain Top University.

Is it not time that we Africans learn and start becoming more African so we can get past this post colonial era?

I’m sure there are a lot of beautiful and outstanding African/Nigerian names that are better than ‘Mountain Top’ or ‘Elizabeth’ Hall.

Imagine "The Prayer was Enforced".

What do people even take God for? God doesn't accept enforced prayers because it ain't from the heart.

The school would have just made participation voluntary and not compulsory.

All these English you were able to write will you write without colonial tutelage?
You look up to those that are ahead of you and not those that are behind unless you don't want progress.
Whether you name it African you will still add English to it to make acceptable to the society.

Isn't that the university with a funny building in front of the main gate that looks like the tower of babel beside the Lagos-Ibadan expressway?
