@Deicide @Chixco95

BASIC was my first programming language. I picked it up and mastered it without a teacher or book and this made me study computer science.

BASIC is very easy master if you're willing to put in the effort. Unfortunately, learning BASIC as your first programming language could ruin your future as a programmer. Why?

Real languages - esp descendants of C are completely different and hard!

BASIC isn't case sensitive. Every other lang is.

BASIC makes heavy use of GOTO - the rest don't.

BASIC don't use this ";"

The biggest issue is that learning BASIC is super easy. While the rest are for lack of a better word - HARD. Thus, BASIC alumni usually just give up.

@Chixco95

Start learning another language right now - any other one. It doesn't matter which you pick.

Asking for help is good. But use your head first. And when asking for help, mention what you have tried first. Else, people will insult you instead of help you.

What your teacher wants you to do is simply recreate what you do when you go to the ATM.

The ATM will prompt you to insert a card.
ATM will ask you for PIN.
You'll type in PIN
Open Seseme if input password = stored password.
Else - Try again.
If wrong pass is tried 3 or 5 times, seize card.

ATM says:
Press 1 to Display of balance
Press 2 to Withdraw
Press 3 to Eject card

Of course no one should be able to withdraw more than what they have in their account balance. And the account balance should be reduced by the amount withdrawn.

To make your simulation lifelike, you can randomly do any of the following:

1. Deduct balance and not dispense cash
2. Seize the ATM card
3. Nepa will take light - trapping the card.
4. Return the card, saying no money in ATM
5. Complain that customer can only withdraw 2000 naira at a time for whatever bullsht reason you like
6. Say, the institution cannot be reached
7. Say, the card's been reported as stolen
8. Delay, delay, delay and finally, ask for PIN.

Of course, for better realism, add a significant delay for every single step. Every Nigerian ATM must keep you waiting for every single step.

I've given you more than enough clue.

I still don't understand why our lecturers can't upgrade their knowledge.

I remember one assignment I was doing for year two students who were taught advanced java programming in year one second semester and are being taught html in second semester year two.

I asked of their lecture slides and what they showed me was an unmodified copy of html tutorial from tutorialspoint.com. Honestly, i was dumb founded.
