A very interesting stat came out last night! Our GCP,Gross County Product. Nairobi was always hugely overestimated contributing not 60% not half,not even 40% but only 22% of national GDP of 90bn$.

"Nairobi takes the lead, contributing approximately 21.7% of GDP over the period, followed by Nakuru (6.1%), Kiambu (5.5%) and Mombasa (4.7%)," KNBS noted in the Gross County Report 2019.

What's the plan?

I read it from the KNBS website,this report might actually help us in cash allocations to counties.It might also encourage investors setting up shops/businesses in other core areas apart from Nairobi.We've from a long time rode with the idea that the capital city accounts for over half of our GDP! Frankly speaking,I always felt something was wrong.I'm sure our counties and ministries will find such a report useful!
