A very interesting stat came out last night! Our GCP,Gross County Product. Nairobi was always hugely overestimated contributing not 60% not half,not even 40% but only 22% of national GDP of 90bn$.

Counties have grown tremendously! Nyandarua for example has double from around 1600$ in 2013 to 3200$ now.

Overall it paint a good picture of somewhat balance growth without huge regional disparities. Yeap Nairobi contributing merely 22% is the big shocker. What is apparent is that agriculture has continued to rise to nearly 30% of GDP and manufacturing has gone down to around 8-10%. The agriculture that is rising is the high value crops (avacados, nuts,dairy, flowers, tea ) - and those counties doing a lot of that like Nyandarua & Nakuru are doing great.Methodology wise; they see to have split GDP into agri, manufacturing and services. I think real estates/construction industry got somehow lost - hence the under-perfromance of Nairobi & Mombasa.

Aflao boarder has been in place with such maintanace for a longer perioud of years. those corner (the illegal route) you see were recently created when ghana goverment raised the security insensitivity of the boarders.


1 Volta region of ghana and togo are family , only the boader divide them. they are just one people leaving in diffrent country. so it is normal for ghanian to have simbling from togo.

2 .most of the low end red made product in ghana local market are brought from togo . and this buisness are traded by ghanian.

The road is under construction from mile 2 to Badagry. Train track has been laid on some sections along mile 2 to Okokomaiko.


Those illegal route has been there since year 2000. No excuse.


Exactly, Ghanians uses that advantage to bypass the immigration to Togo on their way to Nigeria. This explains why there's no record of some of those 500,000 Ghanians living in Nigeria.
