Sorry to cut you short, What kind of Visa were you granted that had one 1 Year validity?( or probably your passport was to expire by 1 year)?

Canada won't Grant you another Visa if you applied for Visa and didn't travel!

This can only fall within the business / Tourist Trip anyway.

Cancelled business meeting could arise and all that, Leisure trip is already planned out in your application and you were sure of travelling, thus you applied, Then You come up with a reason for not using it?

Though i doubt your experience to an extent, I know 4 different people who didn't and have not been given again till this minute

On what authority are you saying this? Experiential or just your thinking? And that is not correct.... Not running to the airport to fly out immediately after visa approval (especially stemming from uncontrollable circumstances that reiterates your home ties e.g work related schedule change at the time, serious family matters that needed you being on ground at the time, etc) actually puts you in a trustable position/ranking in a Visa Officer’s estimation subsequently.

My previous Canada visa was valid for just a year and I didn’t use it, applied for another one and was granted a longer validity visa, till a day to passport expiration actually.

I talk this from what I have experienced, not just what I think.... I have had a couple of visas unused without renewal issues. I remember a CBP Officer at ATL telling me using a particular visa almost under pressure just to satisfy the assumed “visa condition” wasn’t necessary but welcomed me all the same to the US, just a lesson for subsequent times that was for me there. Dig? That stringent rule is mostly in our heads, not a hard and fast rule at all, please.... Regards!

This is ABSOLUTELY FALSE!!! I had an unused Canadian and had no problem getting a new one where did you obtain this information? From the Canadian Consulate or people who just tell things? Do you work for them?

Let’s be 100% sure of the information that we spread here Abeg. FYI: my trip was for leisure.

Please I got a mail from CIC/VFS that my passport is ready for collection. Does it mean I have been granted visa? I applied for tourist/visiting visa.
Please have you confirmed the status of your application with the embassy? Were you given the visa and what is your timeline?

Use Money gram and choose the bank account deposit option. The Individual will receive it directly deposited into their bank account. But to do these, you need to know the routing number and bank account number of the recipient.

Omobendel24, is it possible to change a visiting visa to student visa/work permit within Canada ? if yes, what is the process and feasibility ? and typically, how long does it take if it is possible ? i intend to gain admission and do the change of status from within Canada next year. I already have a visiting visa..

Good evening good people. I received a invitation letter from Canada yesterday which I want to attend as a student. The conference is in May and for three days.

I have gone through the visa application website, however, I want to know better from anyone here who has got such visa, the necessary documents and financial implications.

Thanks

No to answer me

Are you a student in a Nigerian university or a University in Europe ? is it a University sponsored conference ? if no, you need to have a sponsor for the conference who would be willing to let you use his funded statement of account. Basically, you need to upload a letter from your school granting you permission to attend the conference, proof of studentship etc. Although, it would be difficult to convince the VO that you have strong ties to home country because you are not employed, not married, and no travel history. Detailed document requirements has been posted in this thread, just go through it diligently. Good luck to you in your application.

Just to respond to you and hope you get some sense from this if at all you will.

No need to be sorry at all.... The visa issued with one year validity was the normal TRV, and I had a year and 10months+ validity left on the passport as at the time of approval. So? What permutations were you up to? Just for your info, my cousin got same 1 year too, he had less than two years validity on his then passport, he used the visa for a two-week visit and was back, renewed his passport and applied again the next year. You know what? They repeated the one year visa for him despite having over four and half years validity left on his passport, and that too is normal, no ish!

Canada granted me another visa despite not using the previous visa issued. Lemme even clear one of your crazy assumption thus;

“Leisure trip is already planned out in your application and you were sure of travelling, thus you applied, Then You come up with a reason for not using it?”

Yes, the visa was for a leisure trip, and I didn’t use it. Yes it was for an already planned trip. But then, the application took almost 7 months to get approved, way past my planned travel dates, I went to the UK on a visit and was back already even and there was absolutely no need for me to visit Canada again as at the time I got the visa! So? Meanwhile, none of this was explained by me in my subsequent application, and it was issued. So?

You only “know of people”, but I speak from the standpoint of one who has experienced this. So? Guy, take several seats please, relax and learn instead even though you sound like an AGENT that thinks he knows and has seen it all!

Please can someone kindly help clear up this doubt, Expression of Interest (EOI) was submitted to Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program for Skilled Workers (MPNP-SW). In December, now the person has no interest in relocating again, but she wants to apply with her hubby for a visiting/tourist visa to Canada.please will the (EOI) jeopardise their chances of getting a tourist/visiting visa?
