Case of Lagos
Yesterday we witnessed bullion vans entering the residence of APC chieftain, Bola Tinubu. Today, there’s violence, ballot box snatching and burning, sporadic gunshots and thug action being witnessed in Igbo dominated areas of Lagos to intimidate voters and disrupt peaceful voting. Where were the security officials when these happened? Was anyone apprehended?


Case of Rivers
There are feelers that Rotimi Amaechi is behind the violence in Rivers state. His former ally, Magnus Abbe, has also substantiated these allegations. What’s Amaechi’s intention? Perhaps to disrupt the entire election so he can effectively use federal might on another day where security can be more available to him and his thugs. Also, when election is postponed due to violence and intimidation, many voters usually choose to stay home in order to stay safe.

We voted in 2015 for a better Nigeria, but Nigeria under Buhari only got worse. Hope our votes today will be resolute and effective
