Hello guys,
I recently applied for a visiting visa to Canada as a back up plan for childbirth (I intend to also apply to U.S as I had my first child there).
I actually thought Canada will be easy breezy for me since I obtained my first degree from there.
Sadly I was denied.

I had an acct balance of 10k USD.
My husband acct 6m
I visited Canada in 2014
I attended university in Canada 2008-11
I’ve been traveling to U.S.A since I was a kid
I have a 10 years UK visa
I’ve also been to U.K, France,Germany, Brazil, Cancun, Asia, Barbados, multiple times

• a number of my friends are in Canada so I attached a letter of invitation sent by one of them.

Im a final year medical student abroad too.
But I haven’t graduated, so I stated that I was a student.

I was refused based on : purpose of visit & employment.
* I noticed that i mistakenly selected tourism instead of ‘visit’ on my application.

But I filled visit on the eligibility online portal.

I honestly don’t know what to do as I was not expecting a refusal.

(P.s I’m a director in two of my family companies but I never indicated that as I always use my student status to apply for visas. I’m actively a student).

HELP!!!

Hello room

I need urgent help
My wife and her mum applied for a Canada visiting visa in order to attend her sister graduation. Her mum was given while she was refused based on her name.

She was refused because her recent application carries a name different from the name on an old application she made some years ago in the UK embassy.

Her agent played around with her name and used another surname (using a marriage certificate).

Her refusal was due to the current name she now bears. Previous application Eg. Demola Tolani yetunde nee Williams.

But her recent application carries " Tolani Yetunde Williams" am yet to.change her name officially to my own Suriname

She was told to appeal but we are bit confused on the way forward..

Pls, I will value any information I can get at the moment

The invitation u have with a hotel reservation should be fine. Is this a conference or a program.less than 8 months?
Lanquart:
playing I need help/answers to the following issues.
(1) I have an invitation from A university in Canada to attend a program and present a paper.
(2) the events will hold in may.
My questions are :
(1).I will submit my package at the VSF Abuja 2nd week of next month. will there be enough time for them to process my visa application (two months and a week)
(2) my passport will have one year validity period from that march am submitting because it will expire on 20th March 2020. Should I renew my passport before submitting or should I submit with it (the about to expire passport)
(3) which one is better between hotel reservation or getting some one who resides in Canada to send me his private house address and send me approval letter to accommodate me.
thanks

Do u have a current US visa? That could be an advantage. Maybe u should include the family business as well. What were your ties?

This is unclear. She applied now with her maiden name and applied with married name previously even though she had not changed her name? What is the name in her passport? Did the agent use falsified documents for the name in d previous application? The issue is unclear to me.

I’m yet to renew my U.S visa.
I didn’t really add anymore ‘ties’ to my application.
I’m planning to re apply and provide more family/personal details such as; assets , properties, husband’s company etc.

I’m just worried that listing my family business as an employment in my new application may be conflicting with my old application (I only ticked studying).
What are the chances of getting an approval on if I reapply with strong employment and family ties. Another rejection isn’t worth it for me.

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by pointednose: 11:48am On Feb 24, 2019
Good day everyone.

I am new to this thread. I intend to apply for a visit visa. So, I need help on how to go about it.

I currently have a valid US visa which will expire in a month's time.

I intend travelling alone but will like to know if applying alone or applying with my husband will give a higher chance. My husband and I both work, but he earns higher than me and will be the one sponsoring the trip.
So, should I use his account statements alone or add mine to it too or use just my own?

Also, will I be adding his employment details such as appointment letters, payslips alongside mine if I am putting him as my sponsor?

We have friends who can give us invitation letter. Is it better to make hotel reservations or get an invitation letter from a friend?

How much should one look at having in the account? Will proof of investment such as treasury bills be a good evidence to put into the application? What are the documents I will need to make my application solid?

I have been trying to create an account on the cic site but I am finding it difficult. Can someone take me through the process.

I know this is a lot of questions but I truly need answers. Please help me.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Please feel free to answer any of the questions you can answer even if you don't have answers to all.

Thank you.

Most important is the purpose of your visit. What are u going to do there. Yes a letter from ur employer, employment letter and payslips. Do an excel sheet showing expenses and money u have and u will know if u have enough funds plus enough for when u return. And ur dad needs to write a letter

Dear people,

I am tired o and it even makes me laugh than cry.

I applied in 2017 for a study permit for a diploma. I have a Bsc. The application was refused solely on the ground that my course did not match my background. No mention of any other reason.

Late 2018, I got an admission for an Master's in the same field of study as my B.Sc and I am also teaching post-secondary school in yhe same field.

I applied for study permit with SOP, letter of sponsorship, bank account of sponsor with savings which more than covered the tuition and living cost for my two 2years in canada. Sponsor is my brother, provided letter from his employee showing strong salary, provide birth certificates to show we are brothers.

Even provided proof of my own personal funds available to my use aside that of the sponsor.

My SoP even told them why I was rejected the first time and now I have admission for M.Sc etc, my plans after study etc.

My employer gave me letter to show I have a study leave and are willing to take me back on my return.

I included every single document you can think of

I was rejected again. Reason:

1. Travel History

2. Purpose of my visit

3. Current employment situation

3. Financial resources

Like right now I am confused as to what is really wrong?

@keeptryingdgu, Sorry about the delay. Perhaps you should order for GCMS notes to be able to know what the concerns of the VO are exactly.

In the meantime, you might want to see if you qualify and might be interested in the option in this link.

Good day all.

I have a licensing exam(phatmacy) by June and the

website says international graduates of pharmacy can

apply and will be given a letter as it pertains visa. I am

also awaiting PPR(express entry) and believe I will get

it before June. Please what are my chances?

I am 30, single, i just resumed work in a pharmacy and

my salary is 250k. I was without a job for 3 months

and I have 10k USD

in my account as POF from express entry application.

Zero travel history or visa refusal.

I can only write the exam in Canada or London.

Please help me.

If you have submitted your application and waiting for PPR, then have patience. Do you want to use your POF to apply for a TRV? You think it won't raise eyebrows?

Hello everyone. Please I need your opinion and how to go about this. I applied to visit my husband who was as at then my fiance in September. But was denied based on I didn't have or show ties here in Nigeria.

I am now married and i want to reapply. My husband is Canadian. Pls what and what exactly do u think I should include in my application. I used to work before but I now have my own business that's registered. My husband is my sponsor so do I also need to still show bank my own bank statement? If yes showing how much. Please what do you all think or suggest.

Thanks to all contributors on this thread.

My application was finally approved since 10th of January when I did the biometrics. Submission was on the 8th January.

I applied online and submitted documents based on the instructions on the website. I must say that I was a little worried after I applied with only the basic documents listed which were:
Employment letter
Last three payslips
Hotel booking for 2 weeks
Bank statement of about 2m (I used my less frequently used account and transferred money from my regular account as it has almost 50 pages!)
Previous UK, US and Ghana visit stamps.

I did not including my marriage certificate, childrens' birth certificates, booked flight, itinerary and letter of introduction from my employer as I later read on here.

I had even started thinking of getting all the documents I left out in the application for a reapplication if the decision was a refusal, but thank God for everything.

I guess my ties here must have been a deciding factor since I'm not going with my 2 children and spouse.

Thank you all once again

Under which category did you apply, and can you provide the url link to apply?

Yes your new application will conflict with the previous one. You would have to explain why you didn't include the fact that you are gainfully employed.

On your purpose of visit, I think you should state childbirth.

Thank you. I am honestly saying that with faith. My AOR is December 31st.

Also, when one is granted this kind of visa, for how long is the visa normally for if granted? Will it be up to 6 months and will I have to leave the country when PPT comes to finalise issues? I am asking because flight fares don't come cheap at all. And if I don't write the exam this June, n.a. till January and babes ain't getting any younger.
