Re: ASK GAZZUZZ by double3(m):
Boss i noticed the radiator fan comes on immediately I crank up my engine, the temperature Guage on instrument clusters rest at half mark after about 3-4 mins of idle, and the coolant temperature sensors reading falls within specs (90-93 C) without AC on and around(93-96) at full blast ac (i came accross those figures by running a live coolant temperature sensor test using torque pro)....should I be worried since the engine isn't running on low temperature.huhor is it something I'll need to fix.

the question is should you be worried? Yes you should. Fan failure can occur if it always runs steady.

Please GAZZUZZ ... I just bought a new Toyota corolla 2005 model.. It's my first car and I don't even know my left from my right.. I was advised to change engine oil and oil filter. I don't kno the best ones for the car specs and how often it should be changed... Secondly I was advised to remove thermostat and connect the fan directly by one mechanic like dat to avoid overheating... Please sir I really need the basics first.. I can learn gradually... Just tell me first things to look out for..

change mechanics before you damage your vehicle.

For engine oil, 5w30 is recommended and can be found on this thread here.https://www.nairaland.com/4922062/mobil1-usa-0w-40-5w30-0w-20

You can pick up from shop in this location.

Recommended oil is 5W30. Thread owner sells it, and I'm sure he'll get back to you on it. Oil change every 3000 miles with conventional. 5000 miles on synthetic. Oil filter change with every oil change. Fram is solid.

But really, change your mechanic.

Edit: Ooof, Gazzuzz already replied.

What gazzuzz said. New mechanic.

Also, ask gazzuzz to do full inspection of vehicle for you or come to us for same. It's free with service.

To further help, fluid specs below for your car. Do not put fluids that are not these or compatible in your car. Also, no removing or bypassing of thermostat, fan, catalyst, etc. Any mechanic tells you that, RUN.

It's an 09 corolla, I haven't really paid attention to know if it actually goes off when running.. but I'll definitely keep an eye on it.

Like uve been previously adviced; look for another mech....to keep it simple;without a thermostat ur engine would run below the required temperature, which would lead to higher fuel consumption.

Please GAZZUZZ oga what could be causing loss of acceleration in a 2008 civic.. Especially when i turn on the AC, it responds slowly from rest and doesn't accelerate fast as it used to but it picks up a little better when AC is turned off but still not up to the way it used to be earlier some months back. I noticed poor fuel economic recently too.. NO check engine light and still shifts correctly at the appropriate RPM.
Case Scenario
I used to get to 70km/h from rest in barely a 5sec before but these days it can take like twice that even commercial buses and taxis accelerate faster
Help me please!!

might be a blocked catalytic converter,
might be low fuel pressure, might be a clogged OCV filter, might be dirty injectors. Cannot be resolved here sir.

Not everyone appreciates your archaic, boring, ugly looking corolla, some of us just want something sexy that feels like a sport car.
And Civics are very reliable and economical as well. And just because any road side mech can just finger it for you because its easier for them to understand and fix doesn't make it the best o.

front suspension for that vehicle.

Diagnosis first.

Upper strut mount
Lower control arms
Swaybar link/ bushings
Engine mounts
Ball joints struts
Steering rack
Tie/rod ends.

Any of these could cause suspension noises. You need a good listening ear/feel/strip suspension parts before you can find the culprit/culprits
