StaffofOrayan:So where do we get the money to make improvements? Ghana pays higher than we do, and they are just as much a developing country as we are. And at the moment, oil prices are too low for us to make a decent living. And then there is corruption. Shebi we should take loans? That means much higher bills anyway down the road.? Let us be realistic. |

Exactly. And as it's stands our reseve cannot foot transmission cost for 24/7 power. The only option is to make the masses pay higher bills. Everywhere in the world that has constant power the bill's are at least 40-50k per month in naira theoldpretender: |
| Re: Power Generation Loses 1,108MW, Drops To 3,456MW by theoldpretender(m): 8:10am On Feb 28, 2019 |
StaffofOrayan:Yes, we spent 40million on oil search.I agree, that is a waste. But that 40million won't be enough to get us up to 24/7 light.. We need to increase generation to at least 50000MW , and also replace our poor and outdated transmission system. 40m USD won't do it. |
| Re: Power Generation Loses 1,108MW, Drops To 3,456MW by Nobody: 8:11am On Feb 28, 2019 |
smeag0l:true that. We want constant power supply but we ain't ready to dip inside our pocket and pay. |
| Re: Power Generation Loses 1,108MW, Drops To 3,456MW by theoldpretender(m): 8:12am On Feb 28, 2019 |
smeag0l:Yes, that is the harsh truth. The reality is the power sector needs money. And that money can't come from the air. |
| Re: Power Generation Loses 1,108MW, Drops To 3,456MW by Nobody: 8:14am On Feb 28, 2019 |
theoldpretender:generating stardy power for 200miliiom+ citizens isn't what happens in a blink of an eye. Even some parts of China and India still lives in darkness. How I wish solar production can be enhanced and subsidised.. |

Bros naira doesn't have value, We are the highest population of poor people on earth, Suggesting a price hike when salaries has not increased is just callous. Besides APC claimed they have a couple of power plants about to start power generation theoldpretender: |

theoldpretender:40m ![]() Bro, I already covered this. We spend 3 BILLION DOLLARS LOOKING FOR OIL IN THE NORTH 3 BILLION That money could have added 3,000MW worth of Solar Panels that would start generating electricity immediately. |
