I thought most combat engagements were decided by long range weapons before small arms can be of any effect.

Schiebel demonstrates CamCopter in Nigeria
Austrian company Schiebel has demonstrated its CamCopter S-100 to a large European oil and gas corporation in Rivers State, Nigeria, to monitor and control oil and gas infrastructure, both onshore and offshore.
The demonstration took place between 27 and 30 January, Schiebel said. Representatives of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, the Nigerian Air Force, the Nigerian Navy, the Nigerian Army
The S-100 Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) UAS requires no prepared area or supporting equipment to enable launch and recovery. It operates by day and by night, under adverse weather conditions, with a beyond line-of-sight capability out to 200 km. It has a service ceiling of up to 5 500 metres and carries a 34 kg payload up to 10 hours.

That's a norm in warfare you don't kill a downed pilot highest you imprison him and use him as a negotiating tool in the future.. As long as a pilot has parachuted off his aircraft it is dishonourable and viewed as a cowardly act to open fire (20mm/Gatling) on him(attacking aircraft). During one of his bombing raid in WW2 Lt brown's aircraft was severely damaged on return he was intercepted by a Lufwaffe Pilot Stringler he was in a vantage position to shoot brown down but he didn't he instead escorted him safely out of enemy Airspace.
Caveat: What is written or unwritten as regards to rules of engagement isn't sacrosanct, sometimes there is tendency to forget all you've being taught when the heat is on you.

Some people still having their fun I guess

Anyways please offer a prayer for

Wg Cdr Shahzaz Ud Din of No 19 Squadron (Sherdils) flying F-16, son of Air Marshal Waseem Ud Din, Deputy Chief of Air Staff (Operations) PAF one of the pilots of the F16D block 52 which was shot down by a MIG21.

He has died in hospital due to the sustained injuries during ejection and the subsequent beatings by own country man ( kind of tragic comedy ).

Also enjoy the complete shutdown of Pakistani airspace since yesterday morning and continuing till now. Pic posted is of today.

Total blackout in Karachi expecting brahmos strikes from IN ships parked next to their coastline.

Videos available on net showing public announcements asking people to observe strict blackout as a precaution against anticipated strikes.

Who knows what might happen............
Or nothing might happen.........

Either way economic losses for Pakistan is mounting.

Wars are not fought on twitter facebook etc, the gains from the same are illusory and not sustainable in the long run , only fools fall for it, same as some here.

Wars are fought on ground both military, diplomatic and economic , which can bring a belligerent to it's knees.
