Seeing your comments make me laugh really hard. It seems like you are in serious delimna over your chances of getting this job now that foreign trained graduates are being considered for the job. In case you don't know, an entry person at ExxonMobil collect at least #25M annually. You can do the math and see why it's not just any job but a quest for the Satan's excrete.

datascience:

Not so.
Jobs are easier got anywhere if you are qualified except for UK due to their immigration law being too stringent.

Lets be factual here. You wouldn't relinquish a job in UAE to be paid trainee salary in Nigeria where even the living conditions are harsh. The guys in Exxonmobil here in Nigeria are looking out to go to Canada. So you get the logic?

Thirdly, you are being paid according to MOBIL NIGERIA.

What if we have a parallel galaxy where no more graduates would be called for interviews? What does it mean for Mechanical Engineers?

just a word of motivation out of my thoughts. Don’t give up guys. I am thinking this recruitment will be different from the previous ones considering the situation the oil industry is just coming out from. I think they have specific skills, knowledge and experience they are looking out for and if the already invited candidates do not prove positive, they might invite more. So keep the hope alive guys. You will share your testimonies.

Offcourse. Life isn't all favourable, and there is very little under our control. If absolute cut off mark was used, then no mechanical stands a chance. Mechanical skilled test was the pandora box.

If absolute cut off mark was used then mechanical would be outplayed.

are you saying no mechanical person reached the cut off. Some engineering disciplines can replace another. Met and mat or industrial engineering can replace mechanical. The background being considered is STEM.
Re: Graduate Engineer & Other Engineering Roles At ExxonMobil by toobasky: 3:44pm On Mar 01, 2019
If they won't employ mechanical engr why go through all the stress of screening their applications, inviting them for aptitude test and skill test then...BTW does anyone know if anyone that wrote in Abuja and Port Harcourt was contacted for interview..

True. It's possible Met and Mat Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering were all looked at as possible options under the mechanical canopy.

UK is actually getting more receptive in the wake of Brexit. They will start issuing 6months stay for you to look for a Job after your schooling.

Guys in ExxonMobil are going to Canada (as you said) because it will not be hard for them to get a job there, if they eventually decide to go. Most just go to the US.

IOCs normally try to have a uniform standard of payment globally.

Why wont you leave a job in the UAE?
You will and you will anytime anyday especially for a trainee.
How many trainees can boast of 90000 dollars per annum as salary in the oil and gas with less that 2 years experience in the UAE? Very few bro.

Abi you think say ExxonMobil na beans?
And by the way, Exxon is same everywhere, it's a global company. You are even paid more in Nigeria if you go by----Annual pay versus cost of living----.

See ehn, the guys in Exxon and Shell and Total pulling out to Canada aren't doing so due to money o, Never, if the Canadian living condition were to be in Nigeria, Security, health, Education...Forget, dem go dey here gidigba!

Re: Graduate Engineer & Other Engineering Roles At ExxonMobil by sowilli: 9:37pm On Mar 02, 2019
Some people claim interviews will span 3 weeks and it’s in batches, some claim it will end on Monday. Some claim no more invites. Keeping hope alive is different from living in denial or having false hope. It simply means it is not over, I am hopeful for tomorrow, if I am not called, it means there are better things ahead. Can the negative and pessimistic individuals keep away from the thread. We need people to share their interview experience.
