Impressive shots of posh estates in Owerri, courtesy visit-Owerri-love-Owerri.

I just wish they had done the roads better, swept them of sand sediments and planted trees on either side....you'd be forgiven for thinking you were looking at shots of Bel-Air! wink

I like that man Ekeocha he is what a true Igbo man should be. Proud of his home and appreciate how it has metamorphosed over time

I love his videos! He's fiercely proud and protective of his state, Imo!

Even though he has a conc' cockney accent, his spoken Igbo is impressive as well...when he starts speaking Igbo all trace of cockney disappears! shocked

I really like him too. I wish more Igbos will heed to his advice and come back home to invest.

Real estate is a powerful investment. That’s how cities develop.

This is why I've always told people not to compare Owerri to any other city in the east in terms of beauty. See how beautiful the background is, the grasses and the houses. This is something u hardly see in other SE cities, even if they are there, they are not always as beautiful of they are in Owerri. If u doubt me, u can upload aerial pics of polo park mall Enugu, Onitsha mall etc

The below pictures are the areas surrounding the Onitsha mall. You could even mistake the beautiful houses and lush green environment for Asokoro neighbourhood. For the records, Onitsha hosts over 1.5 million Imolites as the city serves as their greener pasture where they make it big and return to Imo state once in a year to show off. Owerri is a dilapidated dumpsite filled with bad roads and filth. I am yet to see one sane person or family that moved to live in Owerri. I am still yet to see any rich guy living in Owerri as his main base where he makes his living. I am equally yet to see anyone that made his/her money living in Owerri. Useless and worthless town that can only boast of commercial sex hawkers, armed robbers and kidnappers. You people should develop your state physically and economically so that people can at least live and earn a decent living in Imo state.

I agree with you to some extent!

But for the fact Owerri is ‘a bit rough round the edges’, there’s no doubt it could easily become the most scenic and most beautiful state capital in Nigeria! They just don’t pay attention to detail: plant more trees; plant well-tended lawns in all open public spaces; clear the sides of major roads of clutter; sweep roads at least once a week; and get a better contractor to build their roads! If they did this religiously, i make bold to say there wouldn’t be any city that could come close in comparison!

Take note, owerri will remain a backward jungle, even Aba is now better than Owerri. Let us stop deceiving ourselves and start facing reality devoid of propaganda.

Exactly my thoughts Xander85 & sanctity454,

The contractors are good with their job, they worth their onion,

They undertook the asaba and abia mall projects,

Let's juxtapose and compare them

We gonna start it off with asaba

Has that Abia mall been opened yet? You don’t see any pics or videos of the inside like you see with the Enugu, Onitsha and Owerri ones! Come to think of it...you hardly see any pics of Abia state at all! undecided

Bros Arinze, any drone shots of the one Umahi is building in Abakaliki? I saw a brief glimpse of it in a YouTube clip of Ebonyi state and it looks like it’ll be the largest of them all! They say it’s fashioned after the one in Dubai!

Abia mall was opened same period Owerri and Onitsha were opened and has been functional.

Place Delta state on the same table with Imo state -
In Delta state, there are Asaba, Warri, Ughelli, Agbor - all big cities sustained by govt infrastructures.
Most of the government development infrastructures one finds in one Delta city, especially in Warri are also in Asaba.

In Imo state, we have only Owerri.
The other towns like Okigwe, Orlu Oguta that started urbanization same time as Owerri remain glorified villages.
Gov Okorocha even officially pronounces them rural areas, treats them as rural.
Fraudulent governors face expansion and modernization of Owerri, then escape with money for infrastructure in other localities outside Owerri.

If we advertise Owerri from now till tomorrow, little or no plaudits. More Imolites are angry than happy with the advertisement.
A quick succession of fraudulent governors have done irreparable damage to Imo state.

Attached is the road to Imo State University teaching hospital, Orlu, the only govt establishment allowed so far to go outside Owerri.

Imo state is like a state bewitched by some evil force.

Persons of dubious character programme the state since Mbakwe left;, it doesn't matter from where the governor comes.

and out of those Delta cities u mentioned, which one looks more developed than Owerri and Orlu? Is it the slow growing Asaba or the slum Warri or Agbor that just recently started developing or Ughelli that looks like a village? By the way, only Warri and Asaba are the recognized urban areas in Delta so stop including other places u know nothing about.

arinzeejikonye, Stop this unnecessary comparison. Let's focus on Imo State, please.
This is the same reason Chino keeps sleeping and waking up here just to ruin this thread.
If Imo State wants to stand out, it has to go beyond the Nigerian infrastructure standard.
Thank you

My friend! Orlu and Okigwe are ahead of the so called Agbor, Ughelli and Sapele. Even Oguta has more tourist infrastructure and attraction than Ughelli and Agbor put together. Why do people type nonsense without facts? How dare you compare Warri and Asaba to a more developed Owerri? Please deal with your sense of sentiment.

Another Example of the EVIL going on in Imo state.

Delta State University teaching hospital, Imo state University teaching hospital, Anambra state University teaching hospital - these three university teaching hospitals were established the same period.

Delta State University teaching hospital Oghara has bloomed to a first grade teaching hospital in the rural area where it's located.

Anambra state University teaching hospital in Awka has bloomed to a first grade teaching hospital.

Imo state University teaching hospital is as good as dead, uncompleted or empty buildings, no equipment, diesel denied when public power goes off, health workers owed months of arrears of salary to make them leave.

Imo state teaching hospital was up class the first five years it was established.

Since Ohakim became governor till today, the evil witches that programme Imo state have conspired with every succeeding governor to kill Imo state University teaching hospital in Orlu and return it to Owerri.

Guess how Okorocha govt in eight years refused to reconstruct this short road to Imo state University teaching hospital Orlu, but builds all the eight lane streets in central Owerri after building bypass roads at the outskirts of Owerri., not to talk of six inland roads unnecessarily clustered together in Owerri.

Orlu Stadium was dismantled by Okorocha govt after completion by Udenwa govt.

For his Senate bid, Okorocha imported synthetic turf and chairs to the new stadium he started but abandoned five years ago at Orlu. After the Senate bid launch, that's all.
Whoever doesn't see the conspiracy of evil people in Imo state since Mbakwe left govt needs to buy glasses.

EVIL IS GOING ON IN IMO STATE. More example.

This is the remains of Imo State Fire Service station Orlu. The station has been working for ages in Orlu until conspirators demobilized it.

Okorocha demolished the modern structures of Imo state Fire Service station at Mbaise road, Owerrito build one of the ubiquitous City Schools in Owerri or eight lane streets.
He built a new Imo Fire Service station in another location in Owerri.

All it takes is a few roads to join the too many suburban settlements in Orlu urban LGA and a sustainable water supply system for the area, to get another city as cosmopolitan, if not more cosmopolitan, than Owerri.

But successive governors are blackmailed to repeat or multiple such roads and market and education institutions and water supply projects in Owerri.

Time was when we were told that Lagos is our own, come and behold it as yours.
The Owerri guy gloating of Owerri development in his video asking us to have Owerri as our own must be drunk.
AN ORLU GUY CAN NEVER TAKE OWERRI AS HIS OWN WHILE ORLU STAGNATES.

Donald Trump shall poke nose at the Owerri guy in video as Trump questions if he ever saw a modem city without pipe borne water.

Continue with your parochialism of showcasing development in Owerri for development in Imo state, as if Owerri is Imo State.
