Okoroawusa is a candidate of jail, he looted Imo state with nothing to show for 8 wasted years but statues. I am sure Ifedioha will provide all the necessary information to make sure Okoroawusa lands in jail.

Abagworo where are you? Okoroawusa has been iberiberised, used and dumped like a bag of filth by APC.

All eyes now on Emeka Ihedioha.

Those advisers of gov Okorocha and Okorocha online crew here on NL who delighted on Okorocha style of development only in state capital, you have finished Okorocha politically in Imo state.

Hopefully, gov Ihedioha reckons with the fact that Owerri, Orlu and Okigwe started the same time, were designated the same time as the urban areas of present Imo state, therefore piling govt development projects on Owerri but avoid Orlu and Okigwe is horribly wrong .

You just took the words off my mouth. Let Ihedioha follow Rochas footsteps at his own peril. Funny enough his district are now.beating chest, they forgot that Ex Gov Udenwa and co were instrumental to Ihediohas emergence. As a rule he should work to bring Orlu and Okikwe up tp speed, Emeka Ihedioha should not provoke an Okikwe Orlu combo opposition. Owerri has have so far had more than.their fair share of project. With enough space, tight security, water, a bank, among other facilities, the new Imo State markets have won over traders who once opposed them. OKODILI NDIDI reports

A few months ago when the Imo State government embarked on the relocation of markets in the Owerri metropolis in line with its urban renewal programme, the traders kicked, cursed and protested, calling the action anti-people. Some of them, emboldened by the comments and action of opposition politicians, who fought to blackmail the government, went as far as dragging the state government to court, while very many others vowed to resist the demolition of the old markets.

No explanation of the government, not even the obvious benefits that will accrue from the relocation of the markets, which were impeding developmental efforts, could sway the adamant traders.

Security experts had also warned about the high rate of crime within the areas the markets were located, justifying the action of government but this was also dismissed by the traders.

But today the story is different. The traders are better for it and words alone cannot convey their gratitude to the state government.

Reasons for their joy and change of attitude is not farfetched. In place of the demolished markets are brand new ones complete with a bank, central security system, water and enough space, among other facilities.

As if that is not enough, most of the traders now own expansive shops at subsidised rates.

At the new markets, economic activities have got to fever pitch. It is a whole new beginning, and the traders are fast settling down to business in their new environment. The host communities where the new markets are located are also counting their gains and thanking their stars.

Some of the new markets include the Egbeada Market Ubomiri, Alaba International Market at Naze, New Market Avu, the Arugo Modern Market, among others.

Despite all these benefits, some of the traders were still adamant to relocate to the new markets, preferring instead to be shopping on the road and atop the ruins of the demolished markets with the attendant risks.

It took the Task Force on Market relocation to force the traders to go to the new markets, where vacant shops are waiting to be occupied at no cost for a start.

The state governor Rochas Okorocha was irritated by the traders’ reluctance to comply with the urban renewal project.

According to his chief press secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo “the criticisms by some elites in the state on the implementation of the relocation of the traders and artisans to their permanent sites built for them by the state government noted that such people do not want a change for the state”.

He said, “They are enemies of the state. They have no good intention for the state and her people. They are allergic to positive changes. They want the state to remain as it was when it was created in 1976. But the governor is repositioning the State for posterity and we thank God for that”

The final relocation of the traders was however greeted with mixed reactions from residents of the State. While some applauded the state government’s commitment to the Urban Renewal programme, others lamented that the relocation of the Market will impose hardship on the residents of the metropolis as they will have to travel far distance to go to market.

A resident, Mr. Stanley Owuamanam, said, “The city is clean and we like what the state government is doing but that has also created another problem. We now have to go far distance to buy stable items”.

A trader, Izu Moses, while commenting on the final relocation of the traders, said, “Yes the urban renewal is one of the greatest thing that has ever happened to us, but we traders have abused the privilege given to us by the governor, I have to tell you the truth, some of us have moved into the new market but because some have refused to go, so we have to join them, now that they have forced all of us, we will all now go at the same time”.

Another trader, Chinazo Ufere, had this to say, “I am a proud owner of a shop at the Alaba Market in Naze and my business has picked up. Initially when the government demolished our former market, I thought everything was over but I can now understand better and I am grateful to the state government”.

Ufere, who sells kitchen wares, added that, “the allocation of the new shop is done in a way that the traders have six months grace to stay without paying a dime after which you start paying for a period of time and the shop becomes yours”.

Madam Nwakaego Ubochi, who almost committed suicide when Eke Ukwu Owerri was demolished according to her, now thanks the state government, “I thought they were just trying to pursue us away from the market. I wanted to kill myself because it was from my little trading to I take care of my family since my husband is bedridden. But today I now own my shop and I have rest of mind. In this new market we have enough space unlike in Owerri. Touts don’t harass us anymore.”

Okorocha escaped impeachment from his Owerri-only development style, because in 2015, he selected most of the legislators of present Imo state House of Assembly.

Imo state was created for development of Imo state, not for development of only Owerri.

Owerri has received undue and excess attention from govs from Orlu zone.

It's time to reciprocate with development for Orlu and Okigwe by the new gov from Owerri zone.

Mention of Orlu anywhere sends you mad.

Else, who in his right senses would rave over my suggestion that the incoming gov must face development of the entire Imo state?

See how your Okorocha you have defended all the time ended up shamefully. His problems are just beginning. Did we wail for nothing in the last five years?

If you love Okorocha so much, tell him to complete the roads he deliberately scrapped and abandoned in Orlu since 2013.

That's why they call it China roads in Owerri grin
Abagworo, kindly ask Rochas to stop dragging the Igbos into his troubled political career.

Do you believe those stories? Better stop believing what you read on compromised media for Okorocha never made the remarks. This is rather what he said

Talking about imposition, what will you say about the mistake of 2015 and the emergence of new leadership for the National Assembly?

I have been watching carefully what is happening in the National Assembly, it’s a very interesting drama. But all I ask of them is that they should consider the South East in their calculations. This nation will not be balanced if South East is not carried along in the affairs of the National Assembly. Nobody seems to be talking about the South East, it looks like the South East doesn’t have a place anymore, that is wrong, politically speaking and that is not good for APC. Because there is going to be a bigger APC after president Muhammadu Buhari must have left the seat. My fear now is that APC might have a serious set back in 2023 because the Oshiomhole’s led executive is actually turning APC into a regional minority party which shouldn’t be because of his mistakes. Right now in the whole South East, we don’t have an APC governor. So if there is any discussion in Nigeria now within the APC governors and President Muhammadu Buhari, there would be nobody from the South East. This is what the APC chairman has done in the South East.

I think they are two different interviews.
Rochas grew up in the north, but he's a coward.
He would rather insult his people to be called a detribalized Nigerian.
I try so hard to separate the infrastructural gains he brought to Imo State from his cowardice/personality.
I know that is hard for a lot of people.
Indeed, that man is a joker.
Let's see how far he will go politically when he goes insulting his people back and forth like Joe Igbokwe

I have praised okorocha on this fora and most especially on the vangaurd comment section, but, I agree with you 1000%. Okorocha and others like joe igbokwe will rush to give a newspaper interview or be quoted on newstories whenever igbos said any negative stuff about EX BRUTAL MILITARY DICTATOR EVIL TYRANT buhari. But okorocha never ever uttered a word about all igbo that were summarily removed by the evil tyrant and replaced with people from his region immediately APC came to power.

Okorocha never uttered a word when buhari could not find one single qualified igboman to head any of nigeria's security forces.

Okorocha did not raise even a finger when buhari couldn't find one qualified igboman to head any of the 10 agencies of NNPC.

About a week before the failbuhari 23 elections, the newly appointed inspector general of police, appointed police commissioners for 37 states and the FCT, and appointed only 2 igbos for sokoto on the far NW of nigeria and borno, on the far NE of nigeria. This is from a tribe that is about 20% of nigerian population with big majorities in seven states of the country. As usual, okorocha was mute and couldn't get himself to speak up for his people. But he was quick to rush to the media to defend the tyrant for any perceived slight by the igbos.

Uncle, I am very objective with my analysis of Okorocha's government...even in the face of shining armor. grin

On countless number of occasions, I've praised his taste for high-quality building projects. However, he has done a terrible job with roads as they obviously don't last.

Speaking of Nigerian standard, you need to visit Enugu to see the quality of road that Sullivan did...let's not even mention Fashola in Lagos. Again, Rochas' road projects are some of the worst in the world.

Sullivan built few new roads but maintained already existing and cut out walkways from their edges while Okorocha created roads in swamps, erosion sites and hitherto inaccessible areas. Future Governors can improve on those not good enough. Meanwhile more photos of Ogboko, Ideato South LGA.

last time I was in Imo state the roads have nothing wrong to say about them, infact, Owerri was like London, the roads were in good shapes starting from Aba road to okigwe road, Akachi road, egwu road, Douglas road still under dualisation, Dee Sam road, bank road, Orlu road, the expanded Owerri/Orlu expressway even all the orlu city roads dualised by him apart from the abandoned ones like the old owerri road, the road besides the children park and the one opposite St. Joseph Catholic church. So why terming them substandard while they've lasted for more than 6yrs.

Mind you, Rochas patronized local contractors and local products which is appreciable and Imo is not rich. So we have all it takes to appreciate Rochas, he is a good economist and a good manager.
