The article stated that Nigeria overtook Egypt because her rice production fell by 40% . this does not in anyway imply that Nigeria's production has improved.

What metrics were used to measure the rice production of Nigeria? If it's by importation, then this is not correct. Nigeria is still importing rice but this time around, it's by smuggling in the northern borders
