If you go to the passport office you will notice that alot of people will jet out of Nigeria for alot of reason. Nigeria I know but cape Verde I don't know, so please any one with valid information about CV should please show us the road so those who can't afford the almighty Europe, USA, Australia can at least see some where at least better to survive.
Those on ground let discuss Cabo Verde .

CV is a country consisting of islands( the islands I have visited are Fogo, Santiago, Brava and the capital Praia), a Portuguese speaking nation though they mainly speak a native language called Kriolu, lots of its citizens speaks French too. The islands have lots of forts and castles, very beautiful women and friendly too.
Getting to Praia is either by air from Dakar airport or through cruise vessels ( I have done both). There are flights everyday( CV is a member of the ECOWAS so it's visa free for Nigeria passport holders) but be very careful of our naija brothers at Dakar airport who are ready to rent you fake dollar notes as BTA as it will be requested at the airport in Praia on arrival.
CV is not a business hub so hustling there isn't gonna be easy. The islands are more of tourists destination and few fishing and port or harbour jobs.
Cost of living is quiet high there too. Lots of naija Yahoo boys based in Dakar always go into CV to flex during weekends when they confirm cash from their clients.

My trips were for official duties. You won't have to pay any money to immigration upon arrival. The last time I flew into Praia from Dakar was June 2018 and the airfare was CFA220,000 roundtrip and it's a 45mins - 60mins flight(Dakar - Praia - Dakar) I paid cash at transair office at the airport in Dakar.
The two boat cruise experiences were official group trips so I don't know about the cost implications and I don't get to pass through immigration formalities in the course of my official trips within the ECOWAS sub-region.

The Nigerians I have met in CV were those on vacations and only one Nigerian woman who is a resident is a colleague( I just learnt she was transferred to Guinea Bissau in January)

May be it was because you were on official duties that was why you didn't go through some protocols,I heard there are some formalities at the airport especially for africans visiting. I just hope someone on unofficial duties in cabo Verde Come online to clearify the entry procedures and living in general.
Sir I would like to give comparison of both Nigeria and Cabo Verde.

Like I said earlier, CV is a small islands country so it's business potentials can't be compared to that of naija. The population is small so it means buying power is very little. They have very good social amenities for the size of the country ie electricity is 24/7, portable water available, good roads, good and almost free health care, the layout of housing is nice for the views, clean beaches, lots of nice and not too expensive resorts, I never encountered traffic during my times there, the citizens are calm and easy going, good security, very very clean environment.
The country is developing into a mini Europe kind of environment. The only downside is the high cost of living and language

I was told minimum of 500US dollars and it also depends on the duration of your stay. But it's strictly NO BTA, NO ENTRY STAMP.

It seems to me they are not much information about this country,is it that few Nigerians are busy enjoying CV quietly,or there nothing really happening in CV.

To my understanding as a travel freak, the cost or amount individual needs for any trip is relative.... The most important and cash consuming aspect of every trip is transportation and accommodation. At the time I made the quoted submit, there was no direct flight from Lagos to Praia but Cabo Verde Air started direct flight in Dec 2019 and only suspended operation when covid show faced.... So you can check out for cost of flight on their website.
For accommodation, my choice of hotel or Air BnB might be different from yours so you need to check that online too.
For feeding, tourist sites sightseeing, hanging out, boat Cruise, etc I don't know if my choice will be yours too but what I always advice folks is that, when you get the total cost of flight and hotel of your choice, always make sure you have at least same amount of that as your pocket money which will cater for feeding, logistics, sightseeing, etc so you can have max fun. For example if after checking flight and hotel of your choice rounded to the number of days you wanna stay and the total cost is $1000, then having $1000 as pocket money is cool.

I will still maintain my stand which is "expensive is relative"
If you earn in Naira and have not been used to traveling by Air and paying hotel bills in US dollars, then it will look expensive to you when you travel and then yours bills are in dollars given with the current exchange rates as the naira is sick at the moment.
That is why i said you should first check out the price for flight on their website, check out for hotel price on booking.com, check out for cost of food, drinks, boat cruise, etc everything is online.
You can then make a judgement of if you can afford the trip or not. CHEERS
