Kwankwanso is the name of his hometown in Kano State. In 1992, he was a member of House of Representatives but when he started Statewide politics, he like many other politicians that are not from Noble families need to stress the names of their town as an identity. In Yoruba land, however your family backgrounds is far more important than your town's identity, that's why some people from reputable/Noble families add their family names to their surnames to gain grassroot acceptability e.g Ex-Gov Adebayo Alao-Akala who added his family name ,AKALA to his surname in 1997 when he joined Politics. He reminded his constituents that he is a descendant of the great AKALA, an illustrious citizen of Ogbomosho of old, admired by the town's people for patriotic contributions to the town. Even in Kano, descendants of Bayero or Audu Bako like to add their family names to their surnames for recognition and acceptability. Twy: |

Their fixation on the demystification of Tinubu is NOT borne out of altruistic desires for any good governance but the need to see the downfall of Tinubu. RockHard: |

dwilliams:we should all be. If you look at most of the corrupt politicians that have been called to account and even jailed, they have all been from the North. And their people never shout "witch hunting", they never threaten to break down law and order on their behalf. |

oyatz:If you say it's raining outside, they will shout Tinubu, say the sky is blue, they will shout Tinubu, Tinubu is the beginning and end of their existence and the reason why their towns and villages are backward and unproductive, he's even the reason why they must leave their villages and head to Lagos for survival. I don't even get the fascination with the man, he's not a public official and he left public office decades ago. Funny enough, you can not deny him anything or stop him from doing anything because he's a private citizen, he's not running for office so you can not stop him or do anything to him. O to ge stopped Saraki in Kwara because Saraki is a public official running for another term in office so you can deny him that opportunity be not voting for him, but Tinubu is not running for anything so you can not stop him and you can not ban him from politics, from political association and supporting political candidates because according to the Nigerian constitution, he's free to associate with any political party, groups and associations. Instead of facing and campaigning against Sanwo Olu, they wasted their time and energy on Tinubu who is not running for anything. And to make matters worse, they injected tribalism with ibo votes which Yoruba APC and PDP united together joined forces to reject overwhenmingly |

Most of the comments have as usual missed the point. The screenshot talks about how the so-called illiterates in both the presidential and state elections went out en masse and voted the candidate of their choice. They did not see the need to go about attacking those who they felt voted differently from what was expected unlike in Lagos where people turned on their neighbours simply because one man ordered them to

raumdeuter:No one is criticizing the support for Tinubu or the support for a candidate of his choice. The criticism is against violence against a particular ethnic group under the orders of a fellow man simply because of their support for another candidate This does not show enlightenment or education |

Lagos elections: The PDP, Lagos chapter need to go back to the drawing board and do a thorough soul searching. They urgently need to discard the strategy of appealing to the emotions of non-Yorubas as a mean of gaining political power because such divisive strategies not only end up pitching the non-indigenes against their host communities, it's bound to be counterproductive. deomelo: |

lawbabs:To my mind, thePDP in Lagos cannot reinvent the wheel. From 1999 to date , there is trajectory of performance that is evident , persistent drive to perform, by Tinubu and his successors. They could do better of course. PDP is hard pressed to acquire this "virus" and just cannot get it right. The right thing to do, is just what APC is doing, Finally, APC should not rest on their oars as the circumstances surrounding the Ambode saga shows that there is danger ahead. |

The governorship candidate of the PDP in Kano is Kwankwaso's in-law...In fact, it became a serious issue in the party at a point... Now, some never-do-wells and idiots are telling us that Lagos should learn from Kano... Learn what really? How to belong to an occultic red-cap movement or what? We have a lot of mofos in Nigeria who reason with their anus....Reason Nigeria remains like this... |

No mind them. They are jealous cos essentially in Lagos we have a formula that works and has been working. We also appreciate and honour our elders who have shown great leadership and patriotic vision for the development of Lagos and its institutions. Are they in a position to give advice mba mba. In their region na so so fight fight, destruction and killing. If not why all of them they run comot. All are chest beating chiefs with no Indians. Leaders with no followers. Brother mi once person get understanding you just get to ignore all their noise, tantrums, blackmail and threats etc it’s all the groaning of an essentially frustrated and confused lot who have problem putting their fathers house in order and instead of learning how to do it want to scatter other people’s. What they deserve is our pity and prayers that they get sense soon. Chekitaut: |
