Icon4s:That's why I say that the reason we underachieved was due to incompetent NFF. There was so much interference and infighting as well as the inability to get committed foreign coaches for the team. |

Clementoke:Fact is we had better players in those good old days than the "bad new days". We have a good young crop of players coming up but this current SE team doesn't stack up to the teams of 06-09. |

andrew444:Work permit issue bro.. that's what's stopping him from playing for Liverpool for now.. once they solve that, its either Klopp will give him a chance or they sell him... Trust me,Klopp is a fair coach...If he is impressed with Awoniyi form he will definitely give him a chance |

andrew444:Wait oo, u claim to know about Nigerian football yet u dont know about the ownership tussle between Warri Wolves and Rangers, over Sunday Mba, that cost him a better move to Europe, masterminded by Amaju Pinnick? SMH At the bolded, the post you quoted said he had to settle for scrubs, and u still put in that line "yet na Bastia of French division 2 Mba go..."? U and use of English sef. Bro, na Bastia be the scrub wey I dey talk of. In absence of the tussle, Mba wouldn't have ended up in a shitty club like Bastia, he had better clubs in top European leagues coming for him but were put off by the tussle. Dats wetin d post wey u quote mean. |

timay:Spain, Germany and France are the last three to have won the world cup, none did it with average players, this is against ur theorem. World class players win u gold not average players. Panama came with average players to try to punch above their weight in 2014, they couldn't stand the heat at the long run, Iceland too in the Euro. Yes unity, team spirit, tolerance, discipline and understanding are the prerequisites to succeeding as a team, buh, u must not Parade average players in order to have/instill these sine-qua-nons. This is where a good coach comes in, Herve Reinard did it with what was left of the aging Ivorian golden generation. Never site England as an instance bkus England just like Africans like gloating. If a coach like Reinard had handled ivory Coast or Nigeria all those years, the result would av been a lot different and more positive. The best African repps in the world cup till tmrw, remain the best assemblage of quality stars with good management, without sentiments, from Cameroun in the 90s, Senegal in the early 2000s to ghana in 2010. In summary, u dont need average players to succeed at the highest level, rather, u need quality players with discipline, team spirit, understanding et al. |
