I have come to realise that most kids around me hate onions in their food. Most of them pick out the onions and eat the food.

My neices and nephews do it most times. I'm just curious..

I did too as a child.

Strangely, my kids prefer onions in its raw state to cooked or fried one.



Kids are just full of wonders, I tell you.

I still do it. If you want to do me evils just cut onions anyhow inside food for me. I'll rather go outside & eat. I've always regarded boiled onions as lifeless, I just don't like the taste.

I use to hate onions too as a child till i got delivered somehow now i love it.

Actually it is the female child that hates onion as kids.

When they grew older they start craving for onion thick butts.

Why are you forcing them to eat onions?! be careful before they deal with you!

I did that too. Except at times when I eat it raw with suya.
Children's taste buds can't tolerate it.
Just grate it instead and add it to whatever you are preparing.

I still hate boiled onions till now.


Even when I cook, I put the onions very early so that it'll melt with heat.
It just tastes somehow joor

They don't hate it, kids just love onions raw, while adults hate it raw. there's a scientific explanation for that.

I think I had to do with perception, how children perceive things such as it been a worm or some stuff like that. I did it as a child and it's still part of me as an adult. I can eat raw onion but not cooked or fried onion. If I taste cooked onions and feel it while eating, I am usually forced to spit the food and abandon it.

Fact.... I remember I hate it badly when I was a kid, most expecially on a White rice, I will take all my time to remove all the onions there before eating it. But now I can't eat a food without onion

Same here, since I hated worms, I transferred the hatred to cooked onions too .

I love it when i was small now am old am still loving it?

I disagree with the op...my kids eats all the onions in suya besides they eat raw tomatoes in whc me the papa cant

As for me I loved onions, would continue to eat it raw, cooked, fried, stewed
