No need to insult me bro..just make ur point clean and clear...I said 20 trips because in a day you will most likely not get 350 naira trips till you close..you will get a mix of short trips and some moderate trips and if lucky long trips..

All im saying is even if you making 7k per day less 3k fuel you are fine though its hard work esp if the car is yours...money is not picked in the streets of Lagos and though there is soft work but if hardwork is all you have for now..make good use of it grin

No im not a mumu..im only an ex driver who survived driving and believes anyone can do same also esp if that's all they have for now

Ah swear down... Just smile at d post, he forgot to add 5 - 10 mins distance to cover for those 20 trips

You cant do 20 trips in a day bro..i never did and im yet to c anyone that did..

All im saying is if e hailing is all you have make good use of it and not complain..work hard and if the hustle aint for you QUIT.

i know so many hard working drivers that are looking for cars to drive on the platform so if you have one just drive and if it aint working sell it or give it out

Truth is ive always been an advocate of strike but alotta guys dont buy into that..i c the way it worked in other emerging economies where uber operates..

im outta the system so what do i know grin

Sorry bout the accident brother..please lets stop all this...350 naira trip is bad but if you do it 20 times in a day that's 7k..even if production cost (fuel) is 3k isn't that 4k at hand?

Uber bizness still puts food on the table besides he should have comprehensive insurance..whatever your hand findeth to do..do it well..this bizness still puts food on the table for many..how much is minimum wage..if you are not happy with the fare then QUIT...

This bizness is just to keep body and soul together while you work on the permanent site grin

Sorry once again brother that had the accident with the black corolla as highlighted above...it will make you moribund for some days..i only hope you ave comprehensive if not Gods speed...after the cost and you hit the road try and make the money back..

I drive once in a while but I intend to drive for some months now to sustain my immediate family while I wait for my other investment to yield. So I drove on Sunday, after getting a "long" trip (Agege to Agungi) for 3500 including toll and taxify fee, I got about four short trips on uber all averaging 350naira per trip.

After three hours in lekki, I had less than 1500 net. That is ridiculous. I almost started thinking low of myself. Nobody should get less than 500naira an hour for any job. I know some here will talk about me feeling entitled and that drivers earn above minimum wage. Hell yeah I should feel entitled if I am putting forward my car and time to partner with uber/taxify. I should earn way more than minimum wage because I'm investing my time and property(car).

This pay should never be okay for anyone, driver or partner. Fine, we have to grind and make ends meet but we can also complain or protest for a better take home while we manage what we get currently. I'm sick of people attacking partners when they complain about uber/taxify unrealistic fares. These companies have succeeded in messing with the heads of some of us.
Because I complain bitterly about the fares doesn't mean I will stop driving immediately, but we should never be okay with this slavery whether we're doing it short term or long term.

You are very right, most times I end trip and my mouth would just be open like for real. Two hours in traffic, turns here and there and you see 1400. I took a man from park view estate to games village Surulere it was like 1100

End the trip, DON'T CONFIRM.
The current fare will show. There's a "back" button on the app, NOT YOUR PHONE. Press that back button, you will see the trip still in progress.
Repeat again anytime you want to see the current fare, you will see the fare increasing as time and distance increases.

Don't let the rider see you doing this ooo, rider will think you are playing some gimmick.

Thanks for this.

True bro, the pay is not realistic and ridiculous...it's below par esp considering the facts as stated above...I experienced all these when I was driving..there have been times while driving I felt silly..u can imagine driving longer distance to pick rider only to drive short distance to drop off shocked..esp island..the ones that just wanna go buy food two streets away or use the atm or wanna go c their friends in the next street shocked...even me as a rider I no get mind request uber for silly short trips...and if I ever do I make sure I pay the driver 1k for that useless 350 or less than 500 naira trip...ALWAYS..

There was a time i carried a rider, a long distance trip I can't recall the exact pick up and drop off but u know those trips u r on and you just dey smile like mehn I don hammer, i go close after this trip..when I ended the trip and saw the fare my jaw dropped...d rider even noticed my surprise and I saw how she smiled...she didn't add anything instead wanted her change...when she left tears welled up in my eyes..I just weak...I couldn't even drive again I just closed and blew empty to my house depressed and defeated vowing never to driver again...next morning I was out again driving grin

But as hard as it was and as ridiculous the fare I never took it out on my poor riders nor insulted uber grin yes i complained esp to my wife and friends but not trying to run down their business...I knew it was slavery. ..that the real winners were the e hailing companes and riders..the drivers were just scrapping....but that's their business model and didn't force anyone to accept it or drive..so if I must drive then I get with the programme... yes these guys are task master and I can only blame the drivers because noone is acting..the few guys that tried to act by striking the support base was poor...try and read up about uber strike in other countries..that's the PVC of the drivers..the only power they have..,hence the importance of that union which many guys here castigated...

For me, my mind set was just keep driving and feeding my family, work hard and yes this driving business is hard work...your back will pain you...you hands will become heavy even for any veteran but at least it puts food on the table. ..uber should never be a permanent hustle, that's y stories like those of nitigriti inspires me and should inspire any driver also...

See its the same attitude we carry into our own grind or other job opportunities...things will never be perfect or our tables served...in everything let's just be grateful

Sometime in November last year I carried a rider from Admiralty way to ibafo around to-10 P. M, was averaging 90km/hr on Lagos Ibadan express way when I saw a car summasult and the next thing blood everywhere. You know the instant fear that grips you knowing that could be you at anytime, I reduced to 50km/hr. Drop the rider and I saw 1500 (including toll),i said in my mind "so I risk my life for peanut". Dropped the rider went empty to inside ikd. Couldnt shake the image off for days. It was a turning point for me.

I have done several business like frozen food, rentals, catfish farming, iceblock.... They all didn't involve me risking my life. May God almighty help us al. cry

That’s the only solution to low fares. And if you need to survive while this is ongoing, simply start doing offline only.

i used to think i Was The only one in this dilemma. Though you'll never See Me complain or biitch on the experience of this hustle, but bro I've seen things.
I've blown all the way from ojuelegba to Cele to pick a rider to ago palace way, on a treacherous road, for #400 grin. But then they're beautiful days too that I was tipped #15k for a #2000 trip, by a very young rider smiley. I closed early on Sunday after hitting #19k within 8hrs cool. Just went to hangout with a friend I've not seen in a long time.
The hustle comes with it's highs and lows, but the complaints won't change anything. The perks comes with the territory. Just hold the positive thoughts, and pray feverently for a breakout or breathrough,or whichever comes first. God bless and keep everyone. May the hustle not be in vain wink

I am friends with Egyptians, some of them are more Nigerian than you and i.
My guy travel to Egypt and you will realize Egyptians don't like to identify with black Africans
