The building collapse is a really sad incident. I agree .

But Should we blame God because someone drinks too much beer and affect the passengers in his bus ? We need to recognize that human disobedience affects not just them , so EACH LAW the creator gave is not just about You and Me But LOVE for neighbour .

Before we think about the creator, Can't we first accuse the creations who misuse their freewill and use that to affect their neighbor ? What if those who construct the building did a substandard Job all because of their corruption driven by Greed and Materialism mentality that abounds among humans ?

The creator says Love your neighbour . but many of his creations DECIDED not to follow his ways. Think !!!

May God heal our land.

Many times children will say they don't want to go to school.
Are parents going to permit that out of the fear of the unknown?
No.

If only the mother had been sensitive enough besides the reason given by the boy.

However, parents should give their children more listening ear so that we can see through
their fears.
Nigerian parents hardly listen to their children.

RIP to these innocent and young angels
But most kids would rather stay at home than to go to school.

It seems that God goes missing in catastrophic situations

God is not a magician, if he was, He would have suspended the building. This sad event occurred because of man's wicked (greed, selfishness etc.) nature.

Now, little children are more alive in their spirit to God. They can be prompted in their spirits when certain negative occurrences are about to take place, but, when they try to make us see it, we are always so busy in our head to even listen. I have heard one too many stories that corroborates this fact.

God is Spirit and if He must direct you from harm, He can only do so through your spirit. That is why Christians are encouraged to grow to the point that when God impresses something in your spirit you just can't deny that it is Him speaking. There many people that have had an uneasy feeling about traveling on a particular day, bus, etc and got spared from a disaster that followed, there are many testimonies on this.

If you find out now you would be surprised that this child could be a school enthusiast, but, for some reason he just didn't want to go that day.

God will not do anything for humanity unless somebody ask him. He has given us Dominion on earth. God will not allow a disaster of this magnitude to happen without prompting the spirits of those that are His to exempt them from this, but, most of the time we are just too busy in our heads and our minds.

Now, the truth is, the tenants knew the building would collapse one day, but, were probably expecting God to come down and give them the day and time. What about the parents who were bringing their children to school on a daily basis? Did they not see the structure?

God did not create a brainless human being, however, when we fail in using our head, He still tries to help us, but he cannot do so if we don't learn how to listen to him from our heart/spirit.

Breeding resentment against God, doesn't change who He is, He is still the I AM THAT I AM. He is merciful as we can see, there are survivors still.

Nigerians and unnecessary spirituality is just weird!

You are entitled to your unbelief, but, it doesn't change the truth. That you are sensible enough to type a reply on nairaland, shows that you are not a kid.

Time will unveil the truth to you sooner or later.

So the best way to respond is subtle insults? You need to get some training on public civility!

where did you pull your data from? You are entitled to your unbelief, but, don't influence others to. I have seen children also who cry and disturb their parents about attending school.

It is the peculiarity of the situation that matters. A child that is enthusiastic about school, suddenly wakes up one day and is refusing strongly to go that day should raise a red flag in the mind of any right-thinking parent. Now, it may not mean that something bad is about to happen when they act this way, I am just only trying to point out the peculiarity.

May God give the family and freinds of the deceased the strength to bare the loss of their own.
May their souls rest in peace..

Apologies if you feel insulted, believe me, it isn't the intention here. God knows if I were an atheist, I would not struggle others into my belief in any fashion, because it would only expose my lack of confidence in that belief.

When you believe in something, you are calm and confident to the point that you can stand alone believing and still be at peace with yourself. There is never the unnecessary need to convince people.

But I have noticed a lot of atheist always go out of their way in trying to convince and most times confuse others into their fold. It makes me wonder what battle they face internally over the belief they hold. But we are humans bound by time and I believe it will prove us at the end.

All the same my sincere Apologies.

Bigmugu:
One of the school children who died in Wednesday’s Lagos school building collapse told his mum he didn’t want to go to school on the day, being his birthday, SR reports.

A three-storeyed building including the Ohen Nursery and Primary School, Ita Faji, Lagos Island, collapsed on Wednesday morning, killing at least 12 people as of yesterday’s count. Families and neighbours of the victims were heard giving different accounts of what might have been done to avert the incident.

One parent who became an emergency worker overnight said:

“I have rescued my five-year-old son, he survived; now I'm here to help others but the LASEMA officials are making things very difficult and slow.”

He added that another child killed in the accident might have been alive had events gone another way. “Today is the boy’s birthday; he said he didn't want to go to school because it's his birthday but his mother insisted.

He was among those that first died.”

Another said: “A woman couldn't afford fees so she came to beg in the morning but the proprietor turned her back with her child; she has just heard what happened and is thanking God.”

One story which seemed very consistent among the crowd at the scene of the incident and at the hospital is that “of a woman who has about 15 to 20 (depending on who's telling the story) kids with her and who are all trapped in rubble”.

They all said the woman was able to “call someone on the phone to give a picture of things in the rubble but warned that she may run out of phone battery soon".

Rescue efforts at the crash are expected to continue on Thursday.

Their Creator did not kill them. It's man's carelessness, greed, wickedness, poverty-lack, poor management of the nation/state's wealth to make life better for the citizenry that lead to the painful death of these children and others there. May their souls rest in Peace.
