Ebullience:Kwankaso, what are you saying, and you want civil servant to vote you again to confirm your earlier winning. Please, apologise to Kano workers and pay them the 30k, Ganduje emptying the treasury has nothing to do with workers. I hope you won't regret your stupid out burst. Atiku said he will enrich his family and friends when he becomes president and you think that did not affect him and he never came out to correct himself. Nigerian leaders should stop taking Nigerians for a ride because they are not stupid, you people think impoverishing the the masses will give you the edge to continue to fool them, No. You disappoint me. |

RTSC: Ibos. IBOs. It is ibos that are posting all these nonsense on what is happening in Northern & South West politics, that is why we want them out of Lagos politics. The voters you called Almajirin, illiterates and beggars because they voted for whom they trusted now suddenly become enlightened because they voted for another person they like in another election. For your information, politics in Kano as it is in South West is not dependent on political party ownership or tribal or religious affiliation but on individual the majority of the people trust at any point in time and on the strength of character of political actors of the party as at that point in time. The issue of Kano and Oyo is not that of people likeness for PDP or APC but choice based on individuals the majority of people trust at this point of time. The dynamics can change at any time. |

Kano can afford more than 30k, Yesuf, take your destiny in your hands and let the Kano civil servants know you can and will pay. Go out now and let the workers know that Kwankwaso did not say that and that sahara reporter who is now supporting APC is lying. Salvage your state and your winning now before is too late. Shikena. |

theoldpretender:One thing Nigerians do not get. 2 million barrels daily cannot fund the 70% budget for a country of anything from 160m to God knows how many. Even if it was $200 per barrel. Around 8 million barrels daily might just be adequate. To pay recurrent expenditure and have enough for capital and special intervention projects. We are still a poor country with massive untapped resources (human especially). If we had done our homework properly since end of the civil war, Nigeria should not need more than about 15% of our budget to come from oil by now. States have huge overheads, debt servicing, pension, etc. 2 Likes 1 Share |

theoldpretender: Most people don't realise that most government spending goes to generous unaffordable entitles programs and not lost through corruption. That was what bankrupted the Greek economy. Very generous pensions with early retirement and a bloated civil service and many others sank Greece. 2 Likes |

brandable: I'll be honest, I did not read economics. My love for economics developed by reading the Economist magazine. The Economist has been my favorite magazine since the age of 17 years. The writers have a phenomenal understanding of economics and they say it has it. I love the Free Market which seems to be the most dominant now. I also read other magazines such as Times, Bloomberg, Forbes and so on. Anything economics and current affairs I love and that includes local newspapers I like reading. I buy Suya, I read the Suya "paper" or I ask the Suya man to cut a certain strip of his yet to be used paper if there's something of interest there I also love the Internet. There's a deluge of information there. When I was in Lag, there was an MD of a now definct bank teaching us a finance course. He'd ask an economic or finance related question and I'll be the only one answering. He was dumbfounded A lot of girls adored me There was this other guy whose forte was knowing names. If you ask who was the MD of lever brothers in 1970, he'll give you the answer. That I found dumbfounding ! Thanks for asking! Appreciated I believe Omohayek and 4play read economics, most likely overseas 3 Likes 2 Shares |

CioAngels: States governments and even the federal government are finding it hard to pay 18,000 and you want them to pay 30,000! Do you think it will be easy? Even Buhari who is a populist for the first time acted unpopular and tried to bring the amount requested down to 27,000. Were it to be approved, there'll be pressure on the foreign reserves and if not properly handled (it will not) will cause a fall in the Naira value. I see the Naira hitting 500 to a $1 before the end of 2023. It might even touch 600. 1 Like |

grandstar:Yes, you’re right in my case. However, it’s worth noting that nowadays anyone can access the same sorts of lectures from the most prestigious universities online, from places like YouTube, Coursera and iTunes online, at no cost except the dedication required to sit through the lectures attentively. To be honest, I find it strange that so few Nigerians are interested in making use of what would have been a ridiculous fantasy in my youth. Is it a question of bandwidth costs or what? 4 Likes 2 Shares |
