The re-elected Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel, today Friday 15th March 2019, visited the site of International Worship Center, under construction at the Central Business District Uyo.

He expressed satisfaction at the pace of the project execution.

This is the most nonsensical project ever conceptualised in Akwa Ibom State (costing on average 9BN). More ridiculous than the uncompleted drainage by Akpabio. Regarding the so-called 21 storey structure, what the heck has a government got to do with constructing buildings? For what purpose exactly? What happens when he leaves office? It will abandoned like the Tropicana "Resort" by Akpabio?

Apart from ExxonMobil and Julius Berger(assuming they're interested), which other companies can afford to rent office spaces there? Honestly, considering his (Udom) background, I'm totally gutted by his activities.

Lagos host/house IOCs and other multinational HQ not because of bias to other ethnic groups, but due to certain qualities available in the State.

Security. Access to Infrastructure. Cosmopolitan Society. Quality Education. Access to quality primary health care. Concentration of other Expats.

The IOCs and multinationals don't care if Lagos or other tribes are unjust to each other.

This should be the tallest building east of the Niger! Point-Block in Port Harcourt is 17 stories....i know cos i counted it!

With the funds Akwa-Ibom have, they should not only have three or four of these highrise buildings, but have a functional INT’l AIRPORT as well! Oil coys and other multinational corporations would have to be really committed to transfer their headquarters or other administrative operations to Uyo if there’s no direct access to the outside world!

Last I heard, the international terminal at the Uyo airport is under construction (since the time of Akpabio). However, it is up to the airlines to develop routes between Uyo and international destinations. Uyo can have 2 or 3 international terminals, but their dream of connecting directly with foreign countries lies with the airlines (and the FG).
