Well I understand your observations.

But they may be avoiding it here but some people have actually contacted me via mail. You know it's not everyone who'll like to comment publicly.

But there are Nigerians who actually like positive things. It's not all about negativity.

Those who understand what I'm saying, they know the truth in it. They know it's an indisputable fact. They know it's a good thing to document Nigerian political events in a book for the sake of posterity.

Not every Nigerian is negative minded. No. There are so many positive minded Nigerians. That's for sure.

So back to what I was discussing.

When you get the idea, how do you convert it into a book?

We're talking about writing a book on Nigerian politics, a book on a Nigerian politician or on any socio political issue happening or that has happened in Nigeria.

So this is definitely a non-fiction book and the way you write this type of book is not the same way you write a fiction book.

Why have the youths been excluded in Nigerian politics? Why is it that it's only old and retired old men and retired generals that have been recycling themselves in office in Nigeria while the youths who constitute the bulk of the Nigerian population are left out in the cold and not given any chance in government?

Now what I've stated above could be your idea for a book. I just wrote it as an example. You could start from just those statements above and expand them into a massive book that can earn you millions and billions of naira.

So as I was saying, why is it that it's only old men of 70 years plus, who are supposed to be in retirement, that are leading Nigeria? Old men who don't know how to use computers. Old men who don't know how to use laptops. Old men who don't know how to use smart phone, android, iPhone or tablet. Why? Why? Why? They only want to remain in power to entrench their names permanently in government as leaders without positively improving the lives of the majority of Nigerians.

The moment you've gotten the idea, write it down and note down where it belongs. Ensure you narrow it down to a particular niche.

In this case, our genre/niche can be Nigerian politics/Governance/The youth in politics/Sending old men packing from the corridors of power/How the youths can take over government through the ballot box, etc, etc.

Next after this stage is to brainstorm on other things about the book.

Since you now have your idea, then you have to brainstorm on the title of the book.

You need a title so that it can give you a proper direction of the book.

You can't write a book without having a title in mind. So you must at this stage brainstorm on your possible titles. Even if you end up not using any of the titles you choose now, it doesn't matter. But just get some possible working titles and write them down. It may not necessarily be the final title but it will guide you in getting the best title later.
