As una dey heap plaudits on top Messi so... remember that there are 10 other players who work their socks off to pass to him. We better not hear any "pass-to-messi FC" complaints or EV thrash talk when they pass to him and he fails to deliver. Y'all cannot eat your cake and have it again o!

Ol' boy you are smarter than this.

Betis BEAT Barca at the Nou Camp. So you have to be 'sensible' with such a team... and if the 'sensible' approach means allowing them DOMINATE the midfield, while you hit them on the counter, I don't see why this is supposed to be a problem!

Every Barca fan knows we lost to Betis AT HOME. Question is why: they counter-attacked us. Being sensible against them is not necessarily ceding possession hoping to counter them. If this was a 2-leg tie Betis will be happy to play that way. Winning papers over cracks in a way people will not see potential pitfalls to playing a certain unhealthy way. Any untrained person can be excited that we were up 2-0 at the break forgetting that the counter-attacking tactics only worked well after Messi scored from a freekick. So Barca fans are within their rights to be uneasy about hoping to beat Betis on the counter. End of.

If You dont see that Vidal has been a more important signing for us than Arthur then i have no words for you.Arthur still has a lot to learn as he has age on his side.I think this was his best game in a minute but he still struggles with highly physical and fast paced games as he lost a couple of balls and was not composed when pressed high.Another is that in highly paced game,he still lacks that Xavi's ability to control the pace of the game.I think the club should personally call on Xavi to mentor both him and De Jong as they are the perfect combination.

Vidal on the other hand was a beast.Winning balls and making tackles.Sprinting forward and backwards and covered the entire pitch. The only downside is him playing a possession game as that is not really his style.Every time he passes the ball,it looks so awkward and looks as if hes going to lose the ball. But apart from that, hes giving us that rigidity and backbone and i hope he continues this way

Nah.When Messi scored,Betis played better. They pressed us so well in that first half that we were all over the place.I was even saying that we needed a Gerard Pique to calm things down. There was a ball Lenglet lost that Valverde very unhappy with.He was visibly angry and i even thought Lenglet has returned to playing rubbish. But things kind of calmed down.As the players started gaining that control of the game,2 chances were created in 10 minutes or so and shouldve been two goals. This is the same thing that happened away to Levante. When the Home team presses and creates those chances, the pklayers tend to be a little bit disorganised. But when they settle, they actually control and outplay the opposition

We are all allowed to have our own opinions, If you think Messi is not the greatest player of all time then that is your opinion. But you are wrong. Just wrong. GOAT

The journalist was trying to blame his injury woes on his diet, attributing it to the firing of his chef. It was to that assertion that dembele replied 'you don't know anything'

Barcelona is not going to play any game and not create a chance. In the first few mins of the game we were in our half, losing the ball and having to defend. We had set up to play on the counter and if Betis had scored during those moments we would have been forced to come out. Same thing we did against Sevilla that almost back-fired. As soon as Messi scored that freekick. Betis had to come out more so that played into the counter-attack that we had originally planned. We won so all is well with the world. My only question was, had Messi not scored a free kick and we kept watching Betis dominate possession and create chances, is that the type of game you would have been happy to watch?

Because something worked does not mean it was the most ideal. A fellow Cule complained and I saw reason in his argument there is nothing more to add or remove from that.

Notable mention: Arturo Vidal(Mr Viking)

He must play in all our remaining champions league games this season, especially the away games(this one is non negotiable).

I remember earlier this season, I once said he should buy mouka foam and cement his place on the bench, How ignorant was I?..Sometimes just a little patience is required

u know...i have never criticised valverde. Not that he doesn't make mistakes or he's right everytime, but those mistakes minimal. He's getting the work done; to win matches and trophies.
I'm very much confident of winning the treble this season. Last season's ucl elimination was just the inevitable stain on ev. It's not gonna happen again this time and I'm as sure as ever.

If you didn't see Messi's 3rd goal, buy data and watch from YouTube. Make sure it's 1080p quality.

Betis fans are applauding

Just watched...

Nice goal...nice goal...calmly executed!
Cool finish from Suarez too... singlehandedly took out three defenders...that's how a striker should be!

on this thread people were calling Vidal a wrestler, and shouting he wasn't fit for Barcelona style football, I felt sorry for their blatant displays of ignorance. Vidal when fit is undroppable, Valverde just found a way to use him without exposing him to unnecessary injuries. Vidal is a gem, Arthur offers a completely different skillset from Vidal but Vidal makes sure we can play effective counters, by winning the ball, passing to a more creative player and running into the box to provide options. Arthur needs us in constant possession to play well, but Vidal, possession or no possession he will play well

Barcelona is one of the most offensive teams in Europe, also among the highest scoring, one match we play a defensive formation, confused people are shouting we shouldn't play Man utd that way, are you people that confused? Another guy said that's the formation that cost us against Roma, na wa for una o.

Man city played Liverpool this season and had to be extremely cautious, Liverpool had beaten them 3 times of 4 times last season, PSG had to as deadly as possible with Guingamp who had eliminated them from one cup like that. Lack of caution against some teams is the highest level of naivety a coach can display, that's why Guardiola struggled against some teams during his time here. Caution is a part of football, just as counter attacks, long balls forward and cross and nod are all part of football. Being careful is not a bad thing

ouch. I actually thought he was pretending so he wouldn't have to play the international fixture. Seems like something Suarez can do grin

Hope he gets fit in time without adding weight again.
