Stupid press release.

To manage a school that dilapidated, it is a crime not to have some form of Levy.

The Governor is a chronic 1diot for this m0r0nic press release.

So what happened to the roof?
Who will be sanctioned over the deplorable state of the school?

Yes, that stupid thing do happen in South West too. And it has been happening since God knows when. I rememberd one time in Ibadan Grammar School, one of our teachers Mr Olododo, seized one pair of our sandals, we were up to 35 in numbers. Just because we came late, he seized one pair of our sandals, gave us cutlasses and measured portion of farm for everybody to cut. Could you believe this man traveled out of Ibadan that very day with our sandals in his car booth. We had to wait for him till past 5 in the evening when all other students had gone home. We couldn't attend lectures, because the portion to work on was lengthy, same thing for everyone.

I don't know if our purpose in school then was to be cutting grass upandan. The man died like a year after, and the students of the school were happy. We felt no remorse for him.

It happens in government primary schools too. Something needs to be done.

Please let State Governments look into not only this but also how teachers exploit Primary school children in states (particularly Anambra State) Sometimes, you'll see children with cutlass working on the farms of teachers when they ought to be in class. I dont think that was what they were sent to do. A child was telling me that they are given portions of farmland to work in and if they dont finish their portions they wont go home. Please, bear in mind that these are children between the ages of nine and 11

P. S I am using Anambra as an example I am sure same thing is happening in other states

Yes it happen in all state, I remember during my secondary school time there is this agric teacher that will gather boys to work for him on his farm like slave, from 9am-1pm while others are in class, the idiot will start claiming it's agric practical, when it's time for harvest the idiot will select another set of boys to du the harvest not letting the first set to know about it. I, been part of the first set will go with some of my mates to the farm after everybody has left the school, du our own harvest carry it home(yam, potato, maize) no monkey dey work baboon dey chop. When it's time for anoda clearing and planting, and he his selecting boys again, this is when I decide no to take agric anymore and switch to food and nutrition,.. but that doesn't stop my own harvest ooo

Wow, this situation is so pathetic. This can a very bad emotional and psychological effect on the kids thereby affecting their learning process.

Guy no b only u during my own time i hear am when my whole ss1 was gathering to take pic i was inside farm harvesting corn i swear i no see even 1 corn ship pains me till this day

With all the monies acruable to Delta State, the Governor and his Commissioner for Education shd also be sanctioned and demoted for allowing the use of such unwholesome and dilapidated structures as school buildings.

What do they mean by 'threatened to sanction'? What threat? For what? If an infraction has been committed by the school authority, shouldn't the law take its course?

Very stupid man. why is he only talking about the paltry sum demanded by the school which is normal corruption we see everywhere. What about the school which is in a dilapidated state?

That particular structure is not even suitable for rearing of animals not to talk of using it as a school. Spits!

Following Success' viral video which has attracted attention of many Nigerian celebrities after she was was sent home for her school fees, the Delta Government has threatened to sanction the little girl's school head and others found culpable. The state Commissioner for Education, Mr Chiedu Ebie who spoke on behalf of the Delta government, said that they operated a free education policy, hence the threat to sanction the school head and others who have been demanding examination levy or any other unauthorised levies from pupils.

“The fact is that we (government) operate free education policy in Delta State,” Ebie said. He further disclosed that many school heads had been demoted or suspended for imposing unauthorised levies on pupils, explaining that the only authorised levies in the state public school were for consumables and sports wears.

Is she in a public school or a private school ?

Delta State runs free education from primary schools o secondary schools.Students are only expected to pay for the books they use,uniform and feeding.

my brother thunder will not fire him cos this said school structures have been there for the past 4yrs and this same governor contested for re election last week which he won comfortably and probably the governor get his highest votes from the community in which the school is located and probably the parent of the said girl voted for the governor so that is what want and that is what they wanted

I remember the school where I did my Nysc in Delta, the principal confided in me that the school fee are all illegal, that the govt of Delta made public schools free

Same thing happens in other states, corruption is now a way of life in Nigeria with government doing absolutely nothing about it. One of my neighbors here in Rivers State goes to her primary school, once in a week yet complains that the salary is small. On Sunday we all go to church and clap hand.

That is not hypocrisy. It is true in most eastern states. Education in most states are free but the school authority finds a way of extracting money from the children.
