On the issue of LASDRI... I have been stopped by VIO a few times when driving my car (but without my name on the registration), and whenever they ask for LASDRI, I simply inform them I'm not a driver, but driving my personal vehicle. When they begin to ask bullsh*t questions about how do they know I'm not lying, I simply ask them to contact the name on the registration or stop wasting my time. I'm always very curt and brisk with them, as my drivers licence and vehicle particulars are always up to date. I think the key here is your disposition and confidence. They are trained to also work by discretion/discernment (especially where the applicable law is not foolproof and can be bended). When they smell fear or panic, they pounce like lions on their prey. They can only arrest you if they have proof beyond reasonable doubt. That being said, UBER/BOLT qualifies as 'driving to earn a living'; which is their definition of being a professional driver. Therefore means any driver under these platform will be inexcusable by Lagos State law for driving without a valid LASDRI licence. I would advise driver partners to be 3k wise, than being 30k foolish. |

bhoomie:With the way corollas are flooded in Lagos, uber/bolt will be their primary target Already, the ministry of transport in Lagos and uber/taxify are at loggerheads. Uber/taxify are claiming to be a tech company, and not a transport firm, so they will not be subjected to transport taxes and all those useless affiliations Maybe we are being exploited, but #3k for a year is better than having to explain to every Tom, Dick and Harry everyday for one month |

darmilolah:How do I get one please? I hope it's not as difficult as getting a driver's license |
| Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Epphy(m): 1:19pm On Mar 19, 2019 |
teeroyal:They accept it as many people use it. As long as it is from 2004 (not sure if they now accept 02/03) above. Just ensure the car is in good condition and easy to maintain. |

Xneg:Go to drivers institute close to you. Sura, oshodi, Ikorodu or Any other that you know that is close to you. No it's not difficult but you will sit in a class to get like an hour lecture. |

Abeg, I wan ask this question o. Why is it that uber drivers always drive like Baba mulika. They don't give space for other road users. It's as if you want to go and carry their passenger. Abi na the fuel dey pepper their body ni. |

mrsage:Uber is only unprofitable in the US, where Lyft is giving them a run for their money. Their CEO is even using their profitability in other countries to source for funds. This business is profitable for Uber and Taxify alone. Uber is only having losses because of the crazy salaries they pay their executives and their R & D into autonomous vehicles. Moreover they are over staffed. The main taxify company has only 50staff (maybe that's why their app is unstable). Uber has many site reliability engineers on their payroll) This business profits only the riders, Uber and Bolt. The driver is not in the equation. Even in the US where they are making 'losses', they are just bidding their time before they kick out their drivers. Their autonomous vehicles are still being developed. African markets are making profits for them. Germany kicked them out, London revoked their license for a while. But since there's no serious advocacy for drivers in Nigeria and much of Africa, they will continue getting away. Moreover our 'wonderful' economy has contributed to the influx of drivers for the only two cities they operate in Nigeria. Head or tail, their fault or not. Drivers loose |

Phori:I guess you've gotten a ride(s) already. Surulere is usually dry around this time except you are around offices. Better to be in office areas from 4:30pm on workdays. |
