1) Bad human road behaviour

2) Bad vehicle

3) Bad road

4) Bad weather

The headline does not represent what Fashola said. The headline should have read "bad road is not the only cause of accident in Nigeria"

I'm not a fan of fashola but I think he is right in some angles..there are still Road accidents in the western world and yet they have far better roads than us, why?? Because of SPEED! Paul Walker and Princess Diana died on bottle smooth roads because of speed...speed kills more than bad roads..

Highway is meant to speed at least 70kmperhour so at that speed if u meet a big pot hole, then apply brake suddenly so what happens to the following vehicle that maintains such speed? You can't predict whag happens om the highway so we need good raods. Fashola only justifying inefficiency

Fashola is absolutely spot on. Many times people don't accidents cos of pot holes. They do so because of over speeding& reckless driving. Yes bad roads can damage ur vehicle but at d same time, those potholes make u to slow down which greatly reduces ur chances of having an accident

You are talking of longevity of the vehicle and the article is talking of accidents.
Actually, good road equals high accident rate. Take china, US as example. Take a look at their record compared to most african countries.
Bad roads on the other hand reduces over speeding, also reduces vehicle lifespan.
How many accident happen on a dilapidated (Enugu-Portharcout road for example) compared to smooth highways like Sagamu-Ore-Benin highway. Common, gotta start using your head and not your heart when thinking.
