I really don't like commenting on threads like this because it can easily incite tribal war but if I can remember, I was told Benin City played a crucial role in the civil war and our actions favoured Nigeria instead of Biafra.
So how can you say we fought hard against Nigeria?
If Biafra secede from Nigeria today, Bini's and Edo in general will be in serious trouble. We are neither here nor there.

If you ask me, we can still live together as one Nigeria, restructuring is the way to go. It will solve our problems but the Northerners don't want this

If South Korea had been stuck to North Korea they wouldn't have been developed. We need to leave the North if we must progress! Northern Nigeria should have been merged with Niger, I don't know what Lugard was thinking!

Anyways, Southern unity is the way forward either to push for restructuring or Oduduwa and Biafra republics. If the Igbos and Yorubas were cooperative, going back to the Southern Protectorate is best!

Really? A true separatist never fights another separatist. Ken Saro Wiwa fought against Biafra on behalf of Nigeria. What Ken Saro Wiwa, Adaka Boro and the rest of the do called Niger Delta agitators really wanted is resource control.

How can somebody say that the want freedom from Nigeria but when another takes them out of Nigeria, they fight to return to Nigeria?

How can Ken Saro Wiwa and Adaka Boro be talking about an independent Niger Delta Republic but when Ojukwu took them out of Nigeria, they fought the same Ojukwu so as to return to Nigeria. If they were truly interested in freedom, they should have left with Ojukwu the sorted out a Niger Delta from Biafra, which would have been easier, than to remain in Nigeria to try and sort out a Niger Delta Republic, which is almost impossible.

The only people interested in freedom from Nigeria are Igbos, the rest only remember freedom when they are looking for restructuring or resource control
