Congratulations on your visa..!

Please take note of the following,

1) Hope you've learnt German in order to get a job as soon as possible

2) Make sure you have a means of sustenance.. eg Fully funded blocked account or Sponsorship letter so that you won't have problem with the auslander when you want to convert your visa into a resident permit because you DEFINITELY need one of the options above.

3) Prepare to have at least 3k euros or more for the first 4 months of survival (If you're using SL). Because the moment you land, you'll encounter lots of challenges without at least 3k euros.

I hope you'll be back on NL after two weeks of landing in DE without going AWOL. grin grin

Congrats once more!

Not every body goes to Deutschland on academic visa with 3k Euro as pocket money. Less than that can serve. If you plan well. I know some people that left with 1k to 1.5k. Target is to get temporary work permit as soon as possible or even the permanent Work permit. If your city is so welcoming they can clear you with out much query. I think linking up with nigeria guys who will assist you with the easy ways can help to save cost. Especially on accommodation and Work permit.

If one have the 3k fine if not take the risk with what you have. Man is created to survive all conditions. Once you have paid for enrollment in your school and gotten your students ID. Fly on, help will come once you're there. Never give Up

they are talking about pocket money you should have on your first trip to Germany. Cause it’s not immediately you can access the blocked money, and youd start settling bills the moment you leave the Plane, from transport to food to where youd sleep and to registration fees and co

Ok sorry the reply is from a matter few days back. If you do not have blocked account money but got visa. How much can one travel with in his pocket to sustain him till he starts to earn wages. I say with proper planning, many have gone to Germany with only 1k euro in their pocket as cash to spend on living expenses. Guys that buoght SL will know what I mean.
This is not required for Visa ooo. Just personal advice to encourage people not to give up once you get the visa.

Good evening everyone. Whaooo, just noticed the Part 5 is closed and amazed to see you guys are on Page 79/80 on this Part 6. Congratulations and I wish you guys including myself the very best and I pray all efforts to achieve goals will never be in vain.

Congratulations to those who have their Visum or Visa and to the rest in line, yours too ll come. I was once like you too so calm down. Na turn by turn.

From my church mind, right from Part 5, I noticed someone has been enquiring about accommodation/ general information in Gießen or Giessen ( which ever way you prefer to call It ), I asked the fellow to PM me, he refused. Later I asked when he's coming and what he intends to study, no response. I'm not God but I ll just put my help in my pocket as you have clearly ignored.

Sometimes, when something is offered to us on a platter of Gold, it is ignored and disregarded. Guys, it got bad for me at a point that I slept in the rail station, in open cold coz I had no where to turn to. Just surprised you're stressing yourself on finding help when it was offered to you FREELY at zero cost, if it was not offered to you, that's another case.

Its more easier to get Admission and getting a Job than getting accommodation in Germany!!! Even many of those who have accommodation will not even bother to give you a listening ear nor a open arm or try to help you or offer you a chance to live with them just for a little while. I'm talking of fellow Nigerians. That's what I experienced, very ugly experience.

Going forward, lets all learn to appreciate those who give information and offer support and assistance to us and we should never take it for granted. The information shared here on Nairaland, you guys can't get it anywhere Freely and more detailed. So lets appreciate those who comes here to drop a hint or two for the wellbeing of others in this Race.

Nobody knows it all, you need people to as well guide you even when you get here especially in area of Information or "OT" as we dey call am. For instance, when I came here, I thought I was buying something cheap only to find out that I was buying it 6x - 8x the normal price. Virtually, I was merely wasting highly valuable money!!! All because I had no information and nobody to guide me on where to buy and where not to buy.

Never feel you don't need information, please you ll need it and regard those you ll meet here as Boss. Boss because they have more information than you do if you like it or not. Even those I'm older in Age, I regard them as Boss because they possess more information than I do.
At it all, I wish everyone the Best now and in the Future.

Goodnight

God is able to do what no other can do,He control the affairs of men.
I started my application as every other person, I was admitted last winter but was unable to pursue it because my sponsor asked me to wait a little while. After my second admission this summer, I booked for an interview . I'm sorry I didn't post my transcript ,u will understand why later on. My interview was scheduled on the 9th January, a few days to that I called my sponsor for my blocking only for him to tell me that he lost a huge amount of money,God so kind he didn't say I shouldn't go. I traveled to Lagos on the 06/01/2019.
I got to the embassy around 6am. Unknowingly to me, I didn't duplicate the Block account opening confirmation which made Mr. Paulinus to send me back.
After the duplication, I never knew that I ought to have duplicated my SOP, when Mr paulinus noticed I didn't Photocopy my SOP the man nearly send me packing, on reaching to the VO,she asked for the same thing.
My interview was an informal conversation, It looked as if we knew each other before( na fun I swear). Na the VO later photocopy the SOP.
On my way back, I slightly escape a fatal accident that took a man's life on the spot.
About 4 weeks later, I got my AM requesting that I sent
1: Passport
2: 6 months travel insurance

After sending my passport on the 06/03/2019( I was scared bcs no evidence of funding)
I got a mail from the embassy, asking me why did I choose 14/04/2019 as my travelling date knowing fully well that my semester starts on 01/04/2019.
I quickly replied to them that it's an error, that I meant March not April. The next day I got a second mail from the embassy requesting for a valid 6 month Health Insurance starting from 14 March 2019. I subscribed that with Faith and I forwarded it via email on the 12 March 2019.
That same night, I read a post here were a person that had similar case was later asked to present “Evidence of funding” that post alone nearly killed me. I lost hope.
On 18/03/2019 I got a call from a courier service that they have my parcel.
19 /04/2019 I picked my parcel Lo and behold my Visum was approved.

This was approved without BA or SL

I strongly believe that with God all things are possible. He specializes in things that are impossible. I believe he will do the same to you. Amen. Thank God for my friends who never ceased sounding faith to me.
