Nollywood was better before, then we had real talents and better storylines now most of the Nollywood movies lack good content/storyline even with the Better cameras now. 1 Like 1 Share |

uncjay: Thanks for this. The last few weeks, I've been watching so many Nollywood classics and what we have today, simpky doesn't compare The camera quality might be better and the settings more luxurious, but there is a certain rawness they lack. The actors are too robotic, almost emotionless. They are more concerned with speaking beautiful English than executing their roles. I can't even recall any of them being able to wail like Chinwe Owoh and Rita Edochie, or sob and cry like Nkiru, no raw emotions. Everything is stuffy and bougie 22 Likes 4 Shares |

Lol this thread such a blast from the past. RIP Muna I still catch some old episodes of issakaba on youtube at times I cant stand the new generation Nollywoods, they are stilted and awkward. After some minutes I just get annoyed and turn them off. An exception i can think of is the wedding party 3 Likes |

Mere looking at him will make you feel pity for him because his face is always like that of a child that lost his favorite cookie.... Frank something or so, I can't remember.... |

safarigirl:Gbam! I ji ya! All of them are perhaps concerned about how they look on camera: fashion, make up, hair. They are good o but not like the pioneers. What about props? The blunders they commit plenty. They use hotel rooms a lot & while that is not bad, its not good because they make it look so obvious that that isn't a home. The wardrobe, the one hanger in it, the lack of clothes in it, even the safe in it, the size of the fridge, the general this-is-not-my-room look. You can't possibly own a big house (as they lead us to believe when they show the exterior of a hotel) & then you put a tiny wardrobe and a hanger in one of the rooms. These are little little details. They will show someone cutting tomatoes in the kitchen for cooking and when it's time to eat, you will see something that doesn't have tomatoes in it. Maybe eba and ogbono soup. Other times when they want to eat, it's USUALLY jollof/fried rice and chicken (fastfood). And then this habit of wearing makeup in ALL the scenes. Early in the morning, late at night. I guess this is as a result of trying to act as many scenes as possible in one day. Our movies lack depth and flavour. Too shallow. 4 Likes |

I don't know O but this list is not complete without the finest of the oldies, Sola Fosudo and Bob Manuel Udokwu. For your info, Sola Fosudo was Nollywood's very first Heartthrob...If you know, you know. 4 Likes |

I will never forget this movie "two together" where emeka ike was genevieve's teacher. He was beating her at school and mistakenly blinded one of genevieve's eye and he was forced to marry genevieve. He treated genevieve so badly and finally she decided to go back to her parent's house. But emeka began to miss her. Not only did he then realise how beautiful gene was but also how a very rare woman she was that loved him unconditionally. When he went to beg her to come back home to him was the best acting i had ever seen from gene and emeka. It was so emotional that i used to cry anytime i rewatched that scene. 10 Likes |
