Why Do Christians Allow Divorced Couple To Marry Since Bible Says Is Adultery

Now the question....If Jesus says divorced people (both female and male) who marry are adulterers, then why does the Christian church still allow them to marry?

There has been a lot of debate about this issue and most of the time, Christian churches do indeed allow divorced people to marry, despite what Jesus says. The question is, Are they right or wrong in doing so?

The scriptures where Jesus addresses this subject make Him appear to say that divorced people can’t remarry because they would then be adulterers. Less I forget, the dictionary definition of divorce is voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and a person who is not their spouse.

For me, the reason why they appear to say so is because these scriptures are very badly translated from the original language. The fact is, Jesus agreed with the Mosaic law in regard to writing the wife a bill of divorcement, but then He went on to explain why the law said what it said.

I think the bible wanted human to live on the standards of God. In the end, divorced people can indeed remarry with no fear of committing adultery as long as there is written proof of the divorce.

The scriptures are very clear on this issue ,and Jesus Himself explained it to us better when He Himself said that marriage is what God has joined; and what God has joined let no man(or woman ) separate . Those who engage in divorce are only doing so to fulfill the wicked desires in themselves.

[13] Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

@exlinkleads you didn't quote the part of the scriptures that says divorced couple should not marry lest they commit adultery. Not everyone knows what you just said. I think you should quote the part of the scriptures and then allow everyone to give their own interpretation. Hopefully the Holy spirit will speak through one of us.

Divorced couples can remarry. Moses gave that chance
