You are not sincere at all,you created a system that worked against your plans of dominating everybody.he you had succeeded or you happen to have power like northerners,you would have been worst.you are not in support of resturcturing,go and read the ohanaze communique and you will know what you people want.you want more states creation instead of regions?you want state police instead of regional police?you want state of resident to replace state of origin?you want local governments to be scrapped.you are all part of the Nigerian problem.all southeast states are not up to Oyo state in western Nigeria in land mass but you want another state in that small area.
why so much hate?? Or should i say jealousy? Any reader would simply make out the amount of bitterness in your writeup, well, your reasons are best known to you.
I am igbo and i know what we want, we want to be independent, just like the states in the USA, with that we won't have the north lazy about while the south do all the work, that's all we want, and if you don't like it, allow us to separate out of your country.
I think say if u no like person, you go allow am make in find him own way nihuh If you feel you don't need us and we won't succeed alone, then leave us let us go first,
We always disappoint you guys, starting from our suprising/unexpected quick recovery from the civil war till now, we will continue to disappoint you.....

Restructuring is a perfect vision that originated from the well meaning people of the South West , and then the south east. But all of a sudden, Tinubu became selfish and killed the vision. Tinubus personal ambition became the vision . It's a pithy. Now the the north is seriously scheming for 2023.

For those who don't understand restructuring let me give you an example. Under restructuring, Ondo state will have the power to build its own railway with an increased federal allocation without depending or waiting for donkey years for Federal government to do so.
Listen, Igbos have never been an advocate of restructuring. They prefer secession.

How we even think this contraption of a country can work with people like these still baffles me. It is like telling a parasite that it's high time it gets separated from its host and you expect it to clap for you? Nigeria is doomed UNLESS restructured. Take it to the BANK!!!
My brother, that's the simple truth many people haven't come to term with. Unless the country is restructured, no matter how good the intention of the leader, good governance would always be a mirage. Constitutionalism and democracy remain inseparable. With Nigeria operating a people compacted less constitution, it'll take a miracle for her to succeed. If you know, you know.

Same thing I told my friend yesterday. Two major reasons the North didn't vote for Atiku were largely due to his promise to restructure Nigeria and to Privatize NNPC. It is glaring that these two proposals make economic sense but due to political parasitism by the North, ethnic bigotry and self-centeredness, they will never allow this country to move forward. Everybody knows of a truth that the present NNPC is just a shadow of itself but some Nigerians hate the truth. I think Atiku should have played Buhari kind of politics - promise heaven and Earth and lie to the North in order to get their votes. Most Nigerians don't like who tells them the truth. That politically nailed Atiku.
your generation will see good and be blessed for this truth.

It's towards 2023 presidential election,they won't handover to osinbajo or tinubu because they don't want restructuring and they have started to position and align and manipulate.what if the tribunal declares atiku the winner after buhari has spent half of the tenure?remember pdp will spend 8 years ,so head or tail,a fulani hausa is still in power.so it continues that way.The APC constitution has restructuring on it and they never mentioned it again.

now listen to the true history, on the 1st of October 1963, Aguiyi ironsi led a coup which resulted to the death of tafawabelewa and some others, ZIK was on the run, as he wanted to safeguard his own life. Aguiyi took over power, and ruled for only 3 months, Note: he maintained the 4 regional government.
Shortly after, the north retaliated, Gowon lead his own coup which saw to the assassination of Aguiyi. He assumed government, abolished the 4 regional government and then came up with Federalism, which lead to the creation of 12 states, 1966.
So where are all this your lies coming from?
What did you drink before writing this thrash? Your history tutor surely owe you a refund.

1. There was no coup on 1 October 1963. The first coup in Nigeria was on 15 January 1966
2. Aguiyi Ironsi didn’t rule for only 3 months. He ruled for 7 months from January to July 1966
3. It was Aguiyi Ironsi that abolished the regional government through the Unification Decree [Decree 34] that he issued on 24 May 1966 and he replaced federal government with Central government while restructuring regional government as Group of Provinces. Provinces were equivalent of local governments
4. Gowon didn’t create 12 states in 1966 but in May 1967.

Decree No. 34

[24th May 1966]

THE FEDERAL MILITARY GOVERNMENT hereby decrees as follows:

Subject to the provisions of this Decree, Nigeria shall on 24th May 1966 (in this decree referred to as ‘the appointed day’) cease to be a Federation and shall accordingly as from that day be a Republic, by the name of the Republic of Nigeria, consisting of the whole of the territory which immediately before that day was comprised in the Federation.
2.

As from the appointed day—

the Federal Military Government and the Federal Executive Council shall be known respectively as the National Military Government and The Executive Council;
the Federal territory shall be known as the Capital territory;
the provinces, including Kaduna capital territory, in schedule 1 of this Decree which immediately before the appointed day were respectively comprised in Northern Nigeria, Eastern Nigeria, Western Nigeria and Mid-Western Nigeria shall be known respectively as the Northern group of Provinces, the Eastern group of Provinces, the Western group of Provinces and the Mid-Western group of Provinces;
for the purpose of administration each group of provinces shall subject to the authority of the Head of the National Military Government, be under the general direction and control of a Military Governor appointed by the Head of the National Military Government;
Act No. 20 of 1963 (that is to say the Constitution of the Federation) may be cited as the Constitution of the Republic.

I just do not understand why the southerners would believe that Atiku, a Fulani man will restructure Nigeria? Southerners are chess in the hands of the northerners both young and old. Tomorrow they will pride their education while the other is illiterate. What a wasted education.

Secretary-General of the Arewa Consultative Forum, Anthony Sani, speaks with GODWIN ISENYO on a number of national issues including why the forum was against the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, in the recent election

What is your view on the just concluded general elections in the country?

I think there was a kind of improvement over the past elections. Nigerians, who have become more enlightened, helped to change what used to hold sway in the previous elections in which only big names called the shots. In a way, plutocracy and kleptocracy are giving way to democracy that is premised on triple foundation of justice, liberty and decency. Did you see what happened to those who defected from their political parties? There are some states where President Muhammadu Buhari won with a wide margin but the contests for the governorship were a different ball game. In fact, some governors might lose those states in the rerun that arose from the contests. That shows the electorate considered not just political parties but the performance and character of the candidates as well. This is heartening and healthy development for our democracy.

Before the presidential election, the ACF endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari, who is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress against a fellow northerner and candidate of the Poeples Democrtaic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. What informed this decision?

It is true that it is not the policy and practice of the ACF to endorse party candidates outright. What the forum does is to provide leadership qualities required for purposeful leadership and party manifesto of political parties and performance of candidates. This is to enable voters to make informed judgement during elections. But that does not mean when the need arises, the ACF would not endorse a candidate. You know there is always a deviation from the norm. In the extant case, the forum was of the view that inspite of some shortcomings of the APC, the ruling party, it is still the best for the country in the circumstance; moreso, that the main opposition party (PDP) made restructuring of the country and sale of the government assets its campaign mantra. This is against the fact that this country has undergone different kinds of restructuring, such as political, economic and geographical; and any further restructuring may be unhelpful. And given the fact that the past sale of government assets did not yield the desired results, the forum was not favourably disposed to any further sale of the government assets. Rather, prudent management of national resources should be what matters. After all, Lagos State is being governed under the same structure and form of government which some people believe is not working.

But the ACF had earlier said it had no preferred presidential candidate for the 2019 election. Why did the group make a sudden U-turn?

The outright endorsement of President Buhari was spurred by the need for the regime to consolidate on its performance, against the campaign by the PDP candidate to restructure the country and sell government asset such as the NNPC as well as the character of the parties concerned.

How do you react to the allegation that the ACF was heavily pressured or forced to endorse the President since the PDP candidate was endorsed by some socio-cultural bodies such as the Afenifere, Middle Belt Forum, Northern Elders Forum, PANDEF and the Ohanaeze Ndigbo?

The ACF was not pressured by anybody or government to endorse President Buhari. The endorsement was done after due consideration of the performance, campaign promises and strength of character of the parties concerned.
