My mom always said she didn't go to secondary school because her father couldn't afford 10 naira back then. She's the most intelligent person I know. Imagine if she went to school. There are millions of kids going through worse than success. I see them chasing buses with pure water. I see them begging. Going viral on soctal media doesn't make anyone special. Rather than gift the one girl monetary gifts, a fund should have been set up to help immodest kids stay in school. Unemployed graduates should be thinking of setting up affordable schools like the ones in Kenya. Protests should have held against issues like this. That's what Americans would have done. Rather, we're saying nonsense like "she was destined to help her family", "her name is success". You call this success?
A whole speaker, who should have used his position to advocate for quality, free education in a state like that, is giving a blockhead adult half a million naira for posting a skit online. 500k would pay school fees for 100 kids. We should stop monetizing everything in nigeria and start solving real problems with real solutions. I expect that blockhead up there to fight for free, quality education and start an NGO but her family and friends already pushed her to cry for 1m. Later you'll say Buhari is why everybody is so foolish.

but the mockery has done more good than bad. Firstly, it has exposed the delta state government on the way they handle education in the state with levity, despite the huge allocation at their disposal.

Secondly, it has brought fortune to the little girl'slife as her school has been changed , that of her poor parents too as they have turned millionaire and celebrity suddenly. It was said that buhari too has invited the little girl to the villa.

Thirdly and the most motivating and touching aspect of it was the tot's commitment to pursuing her destiny, as evident in her words. There's a proverb which says, omo to ba maa je ashamu, ati kekere loti maa senu shamushamu. ...the literal meaning is, a child who would be great in life, you begin to see the traits right from the childhood. She said, dem go taya flogging because i no go commot, I no fit go home, no be say dem (I.e. her parents) no go pay oo, but dem just pursue pesin. She was saying it so angrily. Now, it shows she's a serious kid who loves education and if given an opportunity, she'd go places in life. There are many of her age out there whom they beg with noodles, candies and snacks before they could go to school but despite her parents were owing, she stood her ground.

Lastly, she defended her parents...no be say dem no go payooo. Imagine that. By exposing the state via that video, okowa out of shame had ordered the immediate renovation of the decayed classrooms and the entire s blocks and other government schools in the state.
