I think you are about to be scanned ma. Western countries rarely do unskilled visa programmes. Please do your research very well before paying for anything or relocating. Google the scheme - if legitimate you will see it on the Canadian immigration website. Ber very careful ma

There is nothing like unskilled migration to Canada at least from Nigeria.

Be careful so that you and your husband will not be defrauded.

All applications for skilled migration to Canada is through Express Entry. There are loads of fake Agents out there.

My words of Advice.

Madam, how are you sure your visa will be renewed? How can you verify that there's such job waiting for you guys? Read my lips, you'll regret quitting your jobs and migrating to Canada. Single people find it so hard when they migrate with visit visa let alone you guys migrating as a family. Who is receiving you guys at the airport? Did the agent tell you where you guys will stay for the two years? How you guys will handle bills, feeding and your kid's school? This is what I tell people who wanna rush out to obodo oyibo without proper plans. First of all, think of how you will survive if you quit your job in say Lagos, enter bus and alight at Abuja with no job, no home and no where to go.
Best option is to let your husband go and see how things work over there first. He shouldn't resign before going just in case. He can take leave or go awol for few months and send his resignation letter later if things go well over there. He can come and pick you guys later but two of you quiting your jobs for something you're not sure of will come with massive regrets especially when kids are involved.
Best advice so far. God bless you

Never give your money to any agent.
I live and work in canada and there is no visa like that.
Go for express entry.
Dont let yourself be scammed.
A friend of mine was scammed 1.4M Naira few weeks ago.

I'll say go for it. My dad was in a similar situation (he got a job offer in London back in 2007) and he took all of us (the company sponsored his visa and all). Granted life at first might be tough as you struggle to settle in but its worth it. The opportunities that'll be available to you and your family is insane. Go for it.

To minimize the risk you're taking, it might be advisable for your husband to travel first (my dad travelled first, settled in and then brought us over). Once your husband is settled, has a flat and reasonable money coming in, he can then start making arrangements to bring the rest of you guys over.

I think thats better instead of both of you quitting your jobs at the same time and putting all your eggs in one basket

i hate having to troll on NAIRALAND requests, but frankly your written English puts a very big question on the fact that you claim to be a lawyer ,"am going", "we have a good opportunity", "will it be??" angry angry "carrier instead of career" frankly am disgusted especially in your second post, my candid advice for you would be to improve on your spoken English if you wanna stand any chance on passing the IELTS exam you wanna write

If you're a lawyer, why not try the skilled worker route?

[quote author=Clefayomide post=76897958]Hello ma, hope this message meets you well.
My advice for you is, Please migrate now so you won't live with the regrets later. Life in Nigeria is unpredictable and has a way of suppressing ones dreams at times. This is the best time for you to migrate cos your kids are still very young, you and your husband would be able to further your education before your kids might have come of age and expenses tends to be on the high side. Another thing is, consider the future of this kids, as a parent I'm sure u wouldn't want your kids to grow up in an environment where nothing seems to be working. Set down a good foundation for this kids pls.
Canada is a very good place to settle in terms of opportunities, good education, good working system, cost of living etc.
If people earning 400k in Nigeria are leaving for places like Canada, what excuse does a couple with 260k salary in total have for not leaving when the opportunity kicks in?[/quote

All that you wrote is sweet. Have u been there.?
Talking about another country from what you read online is like thinking what you see in Hollywood movies equal what's on ground in the USA

You're both in the Federal Civil Service. And you're considering relocating to Canada without concrete plans. DO NOT TRY IT. Take my advice and you and your family would be grateful for it.

Yes I do, in the same professional group. Otherwise I wouldn't have made that comment.

Yes, that is a sad state of a nation.

Migrate to a place your skills and qualifications match the reward.

I don't know why some people render bad advice. Migrating anywhere is not as easy as people make it seem here, because it goes beyond having a visa.

There's a general nationalist fervor out there in most countries that targets migrants, especially those who come under the unskilled worker category as most nationals think their jobs are being taken away by third world immigrants ready to work for peanuts, and thus the atmosphere--and politics--are becoming hostile.

migration is not as simple as securing a visa, work or not, and simply finding comfort out there. As a non-permanent resident you'll find things very difficult, especially housing, high taxes beyond what you're used to in Naija that sucks up your meager income, and general feeling of "i don't belong here".

Very skilled workers, doctors and nurses and IT specialists, have a better chance and even that is quite selective and demanding.

People especially visa fraudsters, should stop making people believe leaving one's country to settle in someone else's is as easy as moving from Ikeja to Lekki.

My husband n I are both in grade level 10 and it’s a two year visa subject to renewal by d company offering us d job. To get to d apex in carrier will not be really easy for me but my husband is likely to get there considering their agency is not as populated as ours. Am just thinking how possible it wil be to relocate n survive in Canada doing miner jobs. I forgot to mention, someone i know arranging it for us though I stil doubt d authenticity by I hv a level of trust on d person. He told us my children can go with us to have better education. Pls I Ned street advice is it worth it for Us to resign our jobs. My husband n I decided that if d two of us cannot go together then it’s better we don’t go at all so d option of only one person resigning is out of d question.. I don’t really know about Canada accepting unskilled workers can u pls shade more light
You really have to get smart....

Why not take a vacation and use the time to conduct research and possibly get a feedback from countless Nigerians residing in Canada.

These days of the internet make it easy to get functional information in a jiffy.

Whatever you do, dont allow fear to stifle an opportunity for growth.

Your advice looks good from someone in the system but unfortunately, it's almost impossible to get the desperate people realised of the journey they are about to take. However, I hope they will listen to their heart and not their head if truly they intend to pursue this cause.
