Oshomolie, this is when your negotiating ability is much needed. You've done the hard part taking the party to the next level. You arrived at the right time to rescue the party from a downward slide into oblivion. After placing the NASS on sound footing, the rebuilding of the party should be continued. It is a painful surgery that must be accomplished. Handing over the party back to the members should be completed. From now onwards, party supremacy should be the motto. When God wants to bless you, He gives you a clean slate to work with. When the devil wants to bless you, he gives you the Sarakis and Dogaras.

Well done to our able chairman, it's high time we taught those criminals lessons. APC should appoint members into all positions in both houses, including minority leaders and minority whips in both houses, whoever that's not comfortable with that should either resign or hug transformer

Oshiomole has no negotiating ability unless threats and intimidation is one of them.

We have earlier agreed not to overheat the polity. Again, Mr. President has repeatedly mentioned that each arm of the government must be independence including in choosing the Leadership of the 9th Assembly. This was further demonstrated last week when Mr. President inaugurated a committee to work out the modalities that will guarantee the independence of the three arms of Government at the State level. For this reason, there is need to lead by example. therefore, the call for interference by the President as recommended by our dear Party Chairman, Mr. Adam Oshiomole is not necessary here. Rather, than this unnecessary overheating of polity, our dear comrade should allow the members of the Parliament to elect their leader through a rancour free process.

The stupid immunity clause that PDP the evil and criminal party refused to amend/refused should be the first to go.
It has brought more harm than good, thank you for all your shenanigans Saraki!
Good to know you are gone for good now, tho we know you will still throw all bad clogs in the moving forward of the country for the remaining weeks you have to stay, but Chukwukadibia!!!

This is all that matters, a better Nigeria is what we want.
To the NEXT LEVEL of our lives we go.
I was about to appraise ur opinion when I realised you're just a bootlicker. Your opinion is more worthless than that of PDP to the party you're asslicking. The immunity clause will stay, cause it serves the interest of members of your party. So stop building castles in the air and glorifying APC as if they operate on a higher moral ground than PDP

My problem with this apc is their sole focus on power grabbing and zero focus on governance. Whenever they meet, it's All about how to rig and consolidate on power, ýou can never hear that apc called it's office holders and threatened them with denial of ticket if they don't perform well in governance to the people.

I loved the PDP for that, by the time you as a sitting governor or even senator start messing up and failing in delivering on campaign promises, Abuja will start shopping for your replacement and many men from your state will start visiting Abuja to offer themselves as a better replacement.

Ask mbadinuju, Sylva, Ohakim etc. You can't owe up to 5 months salary and Abuja under PDP will allow you. But its not so under APC. In APC, yahaha bello or oregbesola can owe salary of 9 to 10 months and pension of years like Rochas and it won't raise eyebrow in the party.
pls how much ikpeazu dey owe workers for abia state

You don't have the majority to pass laws, you need 240 and APC currently have 223. When PDP takes over Zamfara, you would be left with 215 members.

The only way Gbaja can be Speaker is if he runs as a sole candidate and we don't see this happening.

Nooooo!

Ok, there are two types of majority used in legislation.

1. A simple majority vote
To give example if you have 51 APC members and 50 PDP members and all the APC voted one way supporting the bill then thats a simple majority of 51 in favor and 50 against.

2. Super majority vote or 2/3 majority
Sometimes a bill might go into lenghty debate on floor. If the majority party does not want to be bogged down in arguments with the opposition and just want to pass the bill right away they can exercise their 2/3rd majority.

Specifically its favorable in overiding a President's veto. If the President was PDP and APC control the House with a 2/3rd majority, and the President returned a bill unsigned, well the APC can invoke 2/3 advantage and vote to pass the bill into law.

If APC does not have the 2/3rd as you pointed out, the Party Caucus can lobby for support amongst the President's PDP members in the House to cover the shortage and get the desired 2/3 majority to pass the bill into law.

Beyond overiding veto, it is required to amend the Constitution.

Now going back to your response, APC controls Presidency and House, so except in Constitution amendment I dont see them ever in need of 2/3 rule. Their simple majority is enough to do whatever they want to progress society.

While APC was winning left and right PDP busied itself worrying about Tinubu not wanted in Ibadan and Oluomo causing havoc in Oshodi. Necessary distractions purposely triggered by Tinubu to rake in victories for Buhari and APC around the nation while PDP was feeding pacifiers to wailers on social media.

The Party has a contract of representation with the people. Please allow the party to carry out the contractual agreement it was authorised by the people to do. The president is not the people.

On election day the people thumbprinted the party logo, not the member name.

The party must be involved. If you dont like it you should have focused on winning than chasing after Tinubu drama on election day.

You need 2/3 majority to pass a law. Only resolutions and matters that are not constitutionally binding are passed using simple majority.
